I think the major issue, as I see it is the abundance of them, often sandwiching individual posts.
That's what I see as a problem, only because it disrupts the flow of the board while reading.
Though I also agree that most other people can do just fine w/o literally marking their place.
my only "problem" was with the multitudes you would post in a matter of hours that really disrupted flow.

besides, if Par goes through and deletes the old ones,
it's obviously a distraction for at least some of us who go back to read again
so sure, use them, no problem, Just give some space between them
but remember that Paras is the one in charge of this website and he can change things as he sees fit.
just like the media changes what you write in letters to the editor or the government could do with just about everything...
