Hot Hot Heat Guitarist Dante Decaro Splits!

Another week, another fractured band. Canadian quartet Hot Hot Heat recently announced via their website that guitarist Dante Decaro has split from the group after completing work on the band's long-gestating third album. While no specific reasons as to the nature of Decaro's departure have been divulged, an official (read: diplomatic) statement on the band's website attempted to clarify matters.

Hello all E-town folks,
I must apologize for lack of communication between myself and all of
you but I have had very little access to any internet since I've
arrived here (Victoria in case you didn't know). But I'm here this
weekend for my freind Matt's wdding which is on Saturday and I would
be down with some hangout on Friday night if nothing else, hopefully
saturday too depending on how long the reception goes. So yes my
plane is in on Friday at 9:35 West Jet and I'm going to try to bus it
over to the Uni on one of those shuttlebuses so hopefully I'll be
around at some point, if not(due to bus schedules, tux fiting, etc),
I'll be at home and you know my phone number. Oh, and I leave Sun at
4pm. I would suggest a skate session but I hear there's snow. So yes
I will hopefully see you all in teh weekend, Victoria is AWESOME!!!!!!
I'll tell you more when I get there.
