10 X 10

it's incredible that HISTORY can be understood simply as being an Algorithm (no less represented Pictorally).

The scream activated blender. (On a side note, if Taylor were a girl who was activating a blender with a scream, this would be him. Just my thought.)

10x10 -- 100 words and pictures that define the time. It's amazing how much of the internet now is parsing the vast data we have, rather than simply creating data.

Oh, and Save Canada's Internet (from the 1996 WIPO "Internet Treaties.")

Well, its a glorious Saturday morning and I find myself at my office working on this fine day. All because I want to take next Friday off to make it a 4 day weekend. Honestly, it doesn't seem like a good deal a the moment, but I'm sure when next week comes, I'll be a happy camper. So is anything happening next weekend?

The Principia Discordia. Of particular interest,

  • The Law of Fives (which you may recall)
  • The POEE Mystery Oath: FLIEGENDE KINDERSCHEISSE! (for the non-German speaking reader, that's "Flying Baby Shit")
  • "The Nagas of Upper Burma say that the sun
shines by day because, being a woman, it
is afraid to venture out at night.
    "
  • The days of the week: Sweetmorn, Boomtime, Pungenday, Prickle-Prickle, Setting Orange (from the five Basic Elements: sweet, boom, pungent, prickle, and orange)

Discordianism, the religion following the document in question, has been described both as an elaborate joke pretending to be a religion and a religion pretending to be an elaborate joke...

If you use bit torrent as your VCR, might I recommend BTEfnet.com. They only track torrents for TV shows, and generally update much faster than Suprnova. Moreover, they have an RSS feed, meaning, if you have a newsreader or Firefox, you don't even have to open the site to get the torrent. (In Firefox, they call these 'live bookmarks'.)

I may have posted something earlier about a... uh... a group of folks trying to turn bit torrent into a computer TiVo. The RSS feed is the first step. Essentially, if you had a feed like this, and bit torrent, a program could watch the feed for shows you want, and automagically download them. Whee!

An interview with Le Tigre From this month's issue of EXCLAIM!
"Signing to a major didn’t make us rich by any means," says Hanna, adding that being full-time musicians in New York City essentially necessitated their deal with Telus, who are using Le Tigre’s dance floor doozy "Deceptacon" in a current ad campaign. "Having bills to pay is a fact of our lives and sometimes we have to do weird shit to keep the band financially afloat."
