That hiccuping sound you heard was the effects bryan put on my guitar in the begining, remember he put that more of a robotic voice than a hiccup before, I might see if he can change it back.
I also want that space phase sound on the transition to preface, i liked that before too.
Also did anyone go in and do harmonics with Clark on pocketsal? It sounds really good, I'm just wondering who or what did them.

and thanks Leo. If it means we're both freaks, then at least we can both commiserate together... and it definitely makes me feel better about all those cracking noises I've been hearing lately. You'd think only joints crack... but not with me... besides oddity loves company!

"man god" I don't think so. As far as I see it, elevating someone to a higher plane of existence just by saying so doesn't actually do anything, and besides, Paras? I mean, yeah, he might as well be some supremer being... given his height and all, but really, "god"? Let's save that word for the other-worshiping peoples, and try to keep Paras' feet on the ground... no matter how often his head is in the clouds! ;)

I'm not saying you're not special, Paras... I'm just saying that none of us is "god" because we're all HUMAN! and... none of us was born incarnate via immaculate conception, or enlightened under the Bodhi tree... (unless that's what you do in your spare time and I haven't found out yet...) or anything else. so... trying to keep it light, and my foot out of my mouth... Paras doesn't equal "god" because he's not supreme... he's just tall. sheesh!

IF YOU DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT MY BORING CRITICISM OF LIME'S NEW TRACKS, I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU SKIP THIS MESSAGE. I gave you all a fair warning...

yeah, I heard that hiccup too.

Also, my bass drum disappears in some parts; whenever I do the rimshot thing in "salamanders" it's not there... and that's a particularly integral part of the beat!!! Plus the bass drum should be a little bit louder and more compressed in general. I'm not sure how many drummers who play our kinda stuff do this much, but I tend use my bass drum a lot to drive the beats, so having them not get lost is important. There's also a few places where your backup vocals aren't nearly loud enough, but then there's other places where they sound just right. I really like what he did with my cymbals though, making the ride all "crashy" like that (just the way I like it)... but at the same time, having it like that kills the dynamics... I need them to be a lot quieter in the quiet parts. It makes the quiet parts feel like they're still loud parts because you have all this white noise from the cymbals coming at you. All the rimshots in all the tracks have to be cranked too kuz you can't hear them. Sometimes I think Clark's guitar is overpowering Jere's too much... and sometimes Jere's guitar is too reverby (making it sound too distant and it just ends up muddy). But the tone is pretty awesome I think. I'd like your bass to take the forefront more on the "rising action" part of Domino Death Race, kuz that part doesn't get noticed as it is in the mix. And yeah, adding distortion to it like you suggested might help that as well. You'll know what needs to be fixed on the bass tracks more than I will.

I friggin LOVE the fx he put on Clark's vocals during the talking part of End On This. Cliche? Yeah, maybe. But I love it nontheless. Clark's vocals sound REALLY good, but I dunno if they should be doubled like that for the whole CD though kuz it wears on the ears a little bit. The vocals on Dying To Say are stellar!!! With all three of you guys having at it like that it sounds SOOOO rad. We need to write more layered vocals in our new stuff, kuz it makes a helluva difference. Mostly the tom levels are pretty good, but in some parts I'd like them louder (usually in the same parts where I want the ride quieter). It'll make a huge difference in dynamics that way. I think the snare sounds friggin AWESOME, but maybe it should be compressed a bit to even out the consistency of how hard I hit it a little bit; sometimes an important snare beat gets lost (like every 3rd one in that crazy beat I stole from Choke in Made From Movies- also the bass drum needs to be louder in that part too).

Phewf, that's a lot of criticism... but don't get me wrong: the tracks sound REALLY good! I just need to write this stuff down somewhere so I don't forget it all when I talk to Bryan. Honestly, having listened to all those tracks 3 times in a row has me exhausted... it's tough listening to so much music with such a critical ear. I'm more used to just relaxing and letting the sounds wash over me as opposed to nitpicking it. heh heh

You're not the only one Alison, I get those two when I arch my back. Yeah, technically you have 12 ribs, only 8 of them attach to the sternum directly, 2 of them attach via cartillage onto the 8th rib, and the last two don't attach to anything

As for the mid arch cracking, I get them too so you're not as odd as you think... or that just makes us both odd, who knows?

hahahaha. yeah i JUST listened to that. i think he replaced my harmonics with some weird synth thing... I LOVE IT!! (kidding)

also, it kinda sounds like there's a hiccup on that track, right after the first chorus...maybe it's just me..
also, i think i'll ask Bryan to add some distortion on my bass for Domino, and maybe some other tracks....possibly Made From which possibly needs some space filling on the outro.
otherwise, yeah it's sounding good- but i'd still like to listen to it at something of a higher bit rate before i formulate to strong a opinion on anything
