hey par, I'm getting better at installing stuff. Some things I need to use "tar -xvjf"
I've unzipped mplayer, and it's odd, I can see it's directory in the shell, but I can't access it... in konqueror I can't find it or the zip file at all...

Very apt, edo.
So, speaking hypothetically, why is it that if one's hypothetical brother smashes in the hypothetical door of his hypothetical car, thereby making it completely unusable, the person hypothetically most inconvenienced by this hypothetical incident is hypothetical me?
Also, caught The Life Aquatic today. It's no Tenenbaums, but has that familiar Wes Anderson touch of making characters who, with a heavier touch, should be loathed, but instead end up as being quite lovable. Despite the reviews which depict it as disappointing, I still think it's worth a look. The innocent quirkiness alone makes it worthwhile, and some of the exchanges are absolutely hilarious in their non-chalant delivery; such as when Steve Zissou is told his expedition will be financed on the condition he doesn't kill his objective, the elusive jaguar shark:

new years will likely be at Pam's but we'll have to wait for her to e-mail something out for sure.

My room looks like chernobyl right now... but holy shit does is sound great in here.
I changed over all the shitty speaker-cables to nicer thick shielded ones and spent the majority of the afternoon re-arranging my speaker placement. The front stereo field has finally been adequately separated (the speakers are roughly on either side of the room), and instead of having the subwoofer in between the four front speakers, it's now instead BEHIND you as opposed to in front. It makes for a super rad stereo-field; everything's coming from all around you!!! Plus, I tightened up the subwoofer's bass response so it's less boomy and more punchy. It sounds fuckin INCREDIBLE.
BTW: I'm going to BINGO tonight with Jess and Karlin after I'm done work. If anyone should care to join...

WHAT THE HELL!??? Our Mercury is on SMALLMAN!?? Those lucky fuckin' bastards. Damn them. Haha. Still, if there's anyone that deserves it...
Also, to answer the question about shows being on Thursdays, it partly has to do with the fact that the New City schedule for 2005 is changing so that their goth night thing is on Friday (instead of Thursday) and that live bands play on Thursday (instead of Friday). Plus, they're lowering the cover for their shows. All in all, I think that's not a bad deal. Cheaper, plus I don't hafta work on Thursday nights!!! Yeehaw.

I should be home around 5:30/6:00-ish, Beck.
Thanks, Al.
Why is every show on Thursday?? (Between the 7and7is and Our Mercury shows, the Franklins are playing on the 13th, too.)
So, anyone know who 440-8945 is, then?

It is the "emergency" cell phone that all chinese parents give to their kids when they go out. So in other words it is not mine and I get to use it when I go out in case a "emergency" occurs. The number is 499-3047.
