Well Starship Troopers turned out to be the grand daddy of all mecha/powered suit/ future warfare type sci-fi material. Practically every mecha anime/ computer game/ book owes a small debt to Heinlen. All the basis of realistic, quick, mecha combat are all here in this book. I can see why mecha enthusist hold this book in such high regard. It is a pretty big commentary on the military-industrial complex and their attempt to take over our minds and turn us into soldiers. The film was not very well done when compared to this book. Well that is hollywood for you.

Insofar as these terms have been (mis)applied to sports, is there a more hyperbolic term to describe a soccer match between Portugal and Canada than "massacre"?
