nice, Paras.

so, that guy on the bus last night suggested ZMag.org to us, it's pretty interesting. a lot less fluff than Mother Jones and a lot more substance... interesting.

What was the website that you'd suggested? I can't remember, just that it had a 2 in it.

I told you guys only Warhammer 40K makes you a uber-geek, either that or you know the answer to this question: If a Emperor class Imperator Titan was to get in a fight with Legendary Giant God Ideon who would win? And what move would they use to finish each other off?

Paras, don't quote yourself and leave it anonymous, it's misleading.

Eric, you were asking about this before, but I forgot about it till now:

www.albertapunk.com

It used to be calgarypunk.com, but they changed it. Nonetheless, albertapunk.com still has much more to do with Calgary than it does Edmonton. To answer your question, that's the Calgary equivalent of www.indecline.net.

Also, I mentioned the MFCA website from Red Deer. Thought you might wanna check that out too.

"I'm just proud to have stepped to that next level of geekdom"

Would make it two levels above dungeons and dragons geekdom? Or just the one?

We're one person short now for the Coupland show. Andy had to back out. If anyone else is interested in going, the ticket is $5 and you'll have to pay Andy for it, (but I have the ticket if you can't find him today in time to pay him for it... I'll just be resting on your soul until you do reimburse him for your Coupland fun).

And in other news: As per a previous post I added today, the link I gave you goes to a story about mangroves and coral reef destruction, but also mentions dynamite fishing... which I must say I didn't really know all that much about... so I looked it up, and it's nasty, but here's a semi-comical photo of it, just so you get an idea... the dynamite kills/stuns the fish and the fisherpeople then pick them up to go to food markets or your local pet store.

And again in other news, I've fallen in love with my new organizer. I bought one for teh 2005 year because I won't be around next fall and I sure as hell am tired of using my SU daytimer (don't tell anyone!) ;) So I purchased the Slingshot Organizer... Who is Slingshot you might ask... They're a totally volunteer activist collective, and the organizer is AWESOME! Every day has important dates and events to remember Like January 10th: 1982 Dora Azmit'a, militant schoolteacher, martyred in Guatemala... and stuff like when Ireland broke free, or workers' unions started up, really cool shit. They also have some how-to stuff at the back of the book like emergency contraception, vegan spanakopita, bread and the ever necessary how to deal with the cops while running an action section... plus much more. I love it!

Ticket takers stock up. Starting in February, a book of ETS tickets is $16.00.

These natural defenses "have protected coastal zones from this kind of tidal waves" in previous natural disasters, Rinne told The Associated Press.
But it wasn't a tidal wave...

Oh, and for Coupland people: Since I have nothing better to do, I'll probably be in CAB between 5:00 and 7:00. Anyone up for a drink can find me there (unless a better friend has already joined me before you got there.)
