crazy, Alison, you were the second person to wish me (or, at least, me in a collective sense) a Happy Monday. Coincidence? I think not....

um, thanks Paras. Sure, some people might be able to skate to work if all the roads iced up... and it was fairly flat all the way, but I'm certainly not. I also did say "personally" in my statement of opinion. and by "hell for us all" I was more referring to the way traffic is going to be all messed up, and walking on sidewalks is going to be a gong show. It's even difficult for wildlife because the snow gets this nasty hard crust on it and makes it harder for the rabbits etc. of the world to dig down to food. And the trees get weighed down immensely. So perhaps you'll be happy about skating to work, good for you. me, not so much.

And what the heck is that person supposed to be? I don't get it.

Have we gone too far? Yes:

Alison, you're such a downer. What about those twos of people who have been watching the weather, waiting with bated breath for weeks. They've been watching, hoping. Suffering through days when it was too warm, or far too cold. Days that lacked precipitation, or days that snuffed out their dreams with a dump of snow. Waiting for a day like today. A day when fate smiled on them. A day that they can finally do it. They can strap on the blades and skate all the way home from work...

Hey Beck, Thanks for the offer of help. Actually, by the time you'd posted that, I'd called AMA, and a rather good looking, tall tow-truck driver came and gave me a boost. Thanks anyway. We've had some rotten luck with destroying vehicle computers when giving boosts to other people, so I didn't want to do that to any of my friends, but it's nice to know you cared.

Tay, did everything work out alright in the end? That's a nasty place to stall. Usually when I've been stalled, it's busy intersections, but the Highlevel Bridge? damn.

So this nasty cold weather that's now on its way out is supposed to be getting replaced with super warm and rainy weather within the week. WTF? Personally, I'm not so keen on rain... in January. It's just going to freeze and make life a living hell for us all. awesomeness of all awesomeness, isn't it?

Anyway, yeah, happy Monday!

Hey Par, what do you use to unzip *.7z files?

I know WinRAR does it in windows, but unrar doesn't recognize it in linux
