At least something good is happening to someone. Happy Valentine Day everyone!
Man looking for a job is rough. Anyone looking to hire a soon to be graduated mechanical engineer?

Beck, I've made a unilateral decision that 1000px is too wide. The ribosome picture is a link now, and my horizontal scrollbar is gone.

let's see...
granted that today is valentines' day, but I don't particularly care
... aka nothing changes in my life ... (and that's not at all a bitter statement, honest)
why on earth do I feel like packing up and leaving town?
is everyone else's expectation of V-day bringing me down?
I literally have no idea why I want to leave, but it sure is hard to not think about it.
just to get out on the road and drive, and end up at somewhere that isn't my parents' house
actually, the feeling this morning was more of "i want to quit... everything"
and it came from nowhere
guess it's a good thing reading week's just around the corner... and I have stupid fucking meetings to go to
oh well, happy V-Day everybody! I hope you enjoy it, in whatever way you desire to make it fun.
I'm going to the Vagina Monologues tonight. should be fun.

I think a more pertinent (and first-year-biology-course-level) difference would be that prokaryotic ribosomes roam free in the cell, whereas eukaryotic ribosomes are bound to the endoplasmic reticulum.
Hmm... I'm amazed that I still remember that. Especially so early in the morning.

The only difference I've ever known (or been required to know) is size. They have different sized subunits which I used to know... but now I don't. The eukaryotic one is bigger though I do remember that.

Does anyone know the difference between eukaryotic and prokaryotic ribosomes? I can't find it in my textbook.

Hmm, I still seem to not be done going through my bio notes.... I think I maybe shouldn't have gone to that horse show this weekend. Then I might be sleeping right now. Mmmmm, sleep. Why can't I start *anything* earlier that the night before???? I don't understand. Silly Jess. On the upside, my sister made truffles. The coconut ones are especially good.
Hope you are all having a most excellent sleep.
