Crazy, I found that exact same midi-page a few weeks ago when I was researching making my own v-drums. I decided that interfacing through your own chip is too fuckin hard. I'm just gonna buy the manufactured drum-sampler unit (it only costs about $400) and then hook up my v-drums (which I'm planning to make this summer) into that. That way I can even interface through my computer. Paying $400 for the sample-box isn't so bad when you consider that buying the whole set would be more like $4000. I'm basically saving $3500 buy making the v-drums myself. What a fuckin scam.

So I was just about to post a comment about how Pitchfork announces the break-up of The Unicorns when I already broke the news to you guys like a month ago or so. So I searched "the unicorns" on here to find the post I made... turns out Eric already posted what I was just about to post, except he posted it YESTERDAY. dammit, so much for gloating! Oh well... here's the links though:

  • ME BREAKING THE NEWS LIKE FOREVER AGO

  • PITCHFORK BREAKING THE NEWS LIKE YESTERDAY

NOW who's up on their shit? Pitchfork or ME? Pray tell.

SHIT! That "IMPOSE" magazine looks fuckin amazing! It figures that no one in Edmonton carries that shit. I say we talk to Chris at Listen Records tomorrow and get him in on that. SOMEBODY in this city needs to carry that fuckin' mag; best of all it's FREE! Also, you forgot to mention that Pig Destroyer is in the current issue as well. Pig Destroyer just might well be the next big hardcore/grindcore/metal band to blow your mind in 2005 just like Dillinger, the Blood Brothers, Mastadon, Converge and Isis did this last year. Trust me: you will hear that name a lot in the future. Remember it well.

BTW- wanna hit up V-City as well as Listen tomorrow? I haven't been there in forever.

Oh yeah- and thanks for the Bright Eyes disc. I didn't realize you put a bunch of other shit on there until I popped it into the computer at work. It made a totally shitty work-shift that much more bearable. Plus I was hella surprised to hear the voice of the chick from Blonde Redhead singing on Prefuse 73. That track is amazing. I wasn't sure how he'd top the last few discs on the new Prefuse record considering his formula has been pretty much played out. But he made it much more organic and expanded his sound and he totally made a better record which I didn't even think would be possible.
