yes, Albert, well stated, but I already know that! And Paras, thanks for the sarcasm.
I wasn't trying to really, uh, complain. I know he doesn't know, and that's fine. i'll get over it in due time, for sure. or i won't and it'll be either my problem or something that gets acted upon eventually. i just don't like the idea of those dynamics within a supervisor/supervisee relationship, and really would like to resolve myself before diving headlong into said relationship. maybe i've just taken looking up to him a bit too far. butterflies are only a problem when i'm not interacting with him. i can have a completely normal conversation with him, and quite frankly enjoy him as a human being, crush aside. it's just when i see him across the building or whatever that things get a bit tricky, and that's totally me. i usually don't have problems. today, though was an exception, mostly because I'm waiting to hear back from him on something. believe me, i'm not letting this burn me up while the rest of my life passes me by. i just wish i could stop squirming inside like i'm seeing a rockstar across the cafeteria. typically he doesn't do this to me, today, however, was an exception (and maybe the caffeine had something to do with it). I think I'd be better if I knew for certain that there was NO chance of anything happening, but I know there's a window, and that just makes things all that much more messy.
anyway, yeah, i'm human, humans have crushes, life goes on. i'm not hiding in a corner, and i don't turn red when I talk to him, life is okay. plus i'm still pursuing work for him... so i'm not that tragic yet.

We all develope crushes on people, it's normal. Sure we get messed up when we see them but don't let that get in the way of doing things. Or you'll end up like me avoiding a certain someone in vain hopes of getting rid of your crush. Like Par said to me that one night when I accidentally locked the keys in my car, you either confront it head on or just forget about it and never bring it up ever again. If you take the latter approach (if I'm using the wrong word, I meant to say the last idea of forgeting about it) then move on and act like nothing has happened. I assume you never told the person you had a crush on them so therefore they don't know and will act normal around you. Don't get nervous they can't read your mind, it is only in your head. The more you interact with them the more mundane they will become, you'll eventually get over it. Or you could fall in love with them if things develope, you never know, I'm not trying to scare you but human interactions are unpredictable. The big thing is to not avoid doing things because you believe this crush will get in the way. It won't, you are only hurting or holding yourself back. Like I said only you know you have a crush on them, for the most part the "Crushee" does not know.

Good advice, alison. Consciously deciding to not develop a crush seems to have worked wonders for you.
Even the anti-iPod musicphiles *cough* can appreciate this. Shufflephones Version 1.0 and Version 2.0.

okay, whatever you do, don't develop a crush on a professor you're hoping to work for. it's just not healthy. and all those butterflies in the stomach don't do anyone any good.

Inventing Words
Ulysses
So Horrible
Move On
Apt. 101
Rice Panda Explosion
The b-sides on the non-Bandeges singles are just live versions of alrealy released songs. Inventing Words, Ulysses and So Horrible are from 2001 when the band were getting used to their new sound, Move On and Apt. 101 are b-sides from Bandeges and Rice Panda Explosion is a song from the Matthew Marnik era that was on a demo and didn't make it onto either of their first EP's, and it's pretty hard to find. I don't even have it.
