also of note from the THREEONEG camp:
The Blood Brothers Limited Picuture disc
$10.00
The Blood Brothers "March on Electric Children"
The Blood Brothers have always been a band that pushes themselves to the extreme: musical mayhem and bad ass riffs. Strap yourself in and feel the limit. Here it is... the next chapter. They are comparable to bands before them, but taking it to the next breaking point. The music is in the vein of Drive Like Jehu, Antioch Arrow, and the Crimson Curse. Nobody can avoid finding the urgency and angst displayed in the sounds produced by these five young lads and Ross Robinson...from the darkest city in the United States, Seattle.
Track Listing:
1. Birth Skin/ Death Leather
2. Meet Me at the Water Front After the Social
3. March on Electric Children
4. New York Slave
5. Kiss of the Octopus
6. Siamese Gun
7. Mr. Electric Ocean
8. Junkyard J. Vs. the Skin Army Girlz/ High Fives, L.A. Hives
9. American Vultures
(oh man, i remember seeing this for cheap over the holidays, fuck me for not picking it up/ "uhh whatever, you'll watch the dvd all of once, the Hootie and the Blowfish album you can listen to for a lifetime")

... i dunno about line-crossing in this circumstance, Eric. it's an awfully large authority gap, and not to mention age gap too. but i also know he's done the line-crossing before, which doesn't help me to solidify a position on the issue... meh, whatever happens happens. he knows i'm not ready for grad school, and seems like next year will still be okay for me to join in... kind of a strange position to be in... actually more-or-less hearing that things could work out for me next year... unless i'm reading too much into it...
and see, that's the problem. if it was a straight-off crush and that was it, i'd be okay. but it's not. my academic future may also rely on this individual, and that's a volatile combination. I'd be much happier with one or the other instead of both. meh, maybe i'll get to talk to him in May... hooray field school!

yeah Taylor's right that Femme Fatale is pretty hot shit. goto acherecords and check out "Handgun Fantasy" to hear for yourself
http://www.acherecords.com/
i did a little digging about Jesse, Femme Fatale and DFA1979 and found out that he was in a new wave band called Blackcat #13 [ http://www.blackcat13.cjb.net/ ] which then splintered off into Femme Fatale //WWW.FEMMEFATALE.CJB.NET and THE SICK LIPSTICK ///WWW.THESICKLIPSTICK.CKB.NET
unfortunately neither one of those links still works.
sick lipstick's a cool name for a band though- something taylor and i almost came up with once. along those lines and fitting with the supervillain theme, i was thinking "the sinister sick"
anyways there's very few places one can still find Blackcat#13 records, but they can be ordered through these sites:
www.ebullition.com
www.insound.com
www.threeoneg.com
THREE ONE G is especially cool cause they have this four piece PUZZLE record from the locust, it's fuckin' way too cool for school:

I'm not entirely sure, but I think I inadvertantly found Jessie's (from DFA 1979) online blog. By the looks of it he writes in it about all of never.
Also, his OTHER band Femme Fatale is like a brazillian times better than DFA1979 will ever be. Shit, Femme Fatale is like the greatest thing to have happened to me in at least a week or so. But then again, that new Akron/Family album is pretty fucking shit-hot too.
