so... I took http://www.youthink.com/quiz.asp?action=take&quiz_id=915 this test: Who are You in America? and the answer I got was Hindu (justification: 'we don't know why this is in here, how did you get it?'), and then I moved some of my choices around and got Illegal Mexican Immigrant (justification: the americans hate you because they think you take jobs away from them, though they won't do the work anyway... God bless you, because no one else will) holy crap, ouch.

I mean, first off, 'no reason' why Hindu is in there, and 'no one else will' man that fucking bites. what a nasty test. but I think you all should take it, and mess with the questions. What did I choose? for both, I chose that people will likely think I'm a terrorist and that I'll spend the rest of my life convincing people I'm not a terrorist... if I were to go to the states ... and tada! Hindu and Mexican. what a nasty thing to say about people... though it was likely written by a highschool student who was bored... sadly still playing up stereotypes even with the caveat that they and their friends fall into a lot of the categories therein. what do you want to bet it's the white rich guy and southern redneck categories and not the other ones? or am I being too critical of a simple stupid internet quiz... likely yes. but interesting nonetheless and on the offchance that you're bored out of your tree, I suggest taking it. just to see... if I'm a Hindu and Mexican, what are you?

ha ha, whoops. sorry for the confusion. that was me writing the airline one. and I was having troubles figuring out if it even worked... we don't have an airline that works on its own, but we do have some non-usa trips that function quite happily without any sort of connection to the states. I think my concern is more with the whole Star Alliance business Air Canada's involved in, and all the rest of that that connects them to the states, not so much the concern over autonomy from the government, because frankly I don't think a country as large and lowly-populated as Canada could ever make a commercial airline truly successful... though westjet is proving a very good point.

Which stereotype do you fall under?

You're You

Congratulations! You're not a stereotype. You're your own person and refuse to follow in others' footsteps.

Actually, we'll always have an airline that runs in Canada on its own; it's the law. In order to fly between Canadian airports, an airline must be domestically owned.

fuckers The USA is changing passport requirements to cross borders If they ever require me to give them fingerprints, I'll just turn around and leave. or maybe future travel won't have anything to do with the states... that's possible, isn't it? fly the 'criminal' air to Mexico w/o stopping in the US, go through obscure connections if necessary to avoid american customs... we just need to continue to have an airline that runs at least okay in Canada on its own.
