Alison - if you're interested, some friends from work and I are going to Azucar on Thursday for salsa lessons, you're more than welcome to come if you'd like to. Anyone else, you're welcome too! The more people the better!

How about free pizza lunch? We have one of those (nearly) every Friday, as part of the AI seminar.
And what Faculty of Sociology?

i hate the SU webboard. and that's all there is to this.
Are you sure that isn't Carlee? it sure looks like her...
and... Pam: so you have nothing to say to me because I happen to have, instead of final exams, a whole mountain of year-end paper work that will push me far beyond 40 hours a week of work for each week that I've been working this month? well then. have it your way. I think it's kind of sad that you have to judge people like that. ;) I'm hoping my term paper will write itself, quite frankly. Because I just don't have the time to do this otherwise.
Besides, you seem overly bitter about these things. and they really shouldn't be taken all that seriously... I mean, big deal your suggestion of Scholar's was shot down. I know about 40 people who were planning on going at 5pm and staying right thru to closing. if there were more people like them (quite likely) planning on going to Scholars that night, you wouldn't have gotten in, and that wouldve sucked. So, why not plan to go somewhere else where there's a better chance of getting in (first of all) and where you wouldn't have to worry about people arriving late and not knowing that you've moved on to another bar because you couldn't find a seat (e.g. people living in Ted Time)? nothing wrong in doing that at all. It's a suggestion. Suggestions were meant to be thought over and improved upon. that's how things go. My suggestion of latin bar on the north end of town was undoubtedly shot down... because who wants to go to the Coliseum area? so big deal. There are plenty of bars in this city, and if you want to hang out with your friends, it's better to find somewhere that you can get in than somewhere close to campus.
Speaking of which though, Azucar (on the north end) has latin dance lessons (Salsa, merengue etc.) every week, and it would be a blast to get a bunch of people together to go... anyone up for it? or maybe later this summer? should be fun... (I think it's Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) by the way, Jess, your sister looked great out on the dancefloor! :)

It looks like an Orca, but there's one problem with Dall's porpoise: it's not a dolphin.
The story here was that an existing wholphin had offspring. (The offspring was 3/4 atlantic bottlenose dolphin and 1/4 false killer whale.) In order for the wholphin to be fertile, the two species would have to be closely related. (The false killer whale is a species of dolphin.)
I guess that makes wholphin a kind of misnomer; the 'whale' part is actually a dolphin.

huh. I assumed that the "false killer whale" they were referring to is what is otherwise known as Dall's Porpoise because they look very similar to orcas. Oops.
