I just finished reading SHARKNIFE vol. 1 thanks to Andy. Corey Lewis Sutherland the Rey (the creator of Sharknife) lists Naruto as one of his favourite comics. Also, he lists 100% (by Paul Pope; a personal favourite of mine).

Not to mention he adds a Sharknife mixtape at the end of the book (a la Becky Cloonan and Brian Wood):

01. Chieko's Introduction -- Hot Hot Heat : Get In Or Get Out
02. Sharknife's Spiral Explosion -- The Blood Brothers : Trash Flavoured Trash
03. Ombra the Vengeful -- RJD2 : 1976
04. Calm Before the Flush -- Supergrass : Time
05. Lei-Mo's Mission -- Gorillaz : 5/4
06. Devastator -- Phantom Planet : Big Brat
07. Egroll Pyramids -- Hieroglyphics : Classic
08. Egroll Pyramids (Crima Appears) -- The Blood Brothers : Peacock Skeleton
09. Ceaser Rests on Statue -- Ratatat : Cherry
10. Elsewhere / Orcasword -- The Blood Brothers : Every Breath Is a Bomb

Not a bad mix. Not to mention the dude was born in 1982 has hair as long as mine (I didn't know this until I saw the picture just now), and is wearing a Le Tigre shirt (which looks surprisingly similar to the one my parents got me for my birthday this weekend) and lives in LA. I hate him for being just like me except better and successful. What a fuck. But I love his comics. And he totally never published the fan-art I did for him years back before anybody else even knew who he was. Bastard. I sent it to him twice with no response. Probably just jealous of my skills.

You know it.

Mafukka...

But damn he makes good comics. ARGH.

Are you people ever boring when I'm gone!

Two things, then I has to do some "work":

- The Econolodge has wireless internet! Sweet!

- There's something depressing when you have a bum knee and you discover your connection is at gate A50 when you're at gate A18 (there ought to be a rule: 20 gates = new terminal.) There's something really depressing when you get to gate A30 on your journey and you look up and notice a monorail along the side of the terminal. That's right. Detroit's airport terminal is so long, they have a monorail. I won't even get into the fact that I looked up when I was perfectly between the two stops I would have used had I known about the fucking thing in the first place.

(I'd like to point out that, despite the imbalance in the length of the description of these two parts of my day, they balance each other out perfectly.

Aw, who am I kidding? The internet is way more uplifting than the long walk through Detroit's airport.

actually, they mention on the time-traveller site that they DID base their idea off that comic strip. I've been reading it for a while, and sometimes it's brilliant, but other times it's kinda boring. I kinda liked this one though:

heh heh

BTW: I betcha most of you read comics too fast. Far too fast to truly appreciate them. But you're not alone. Most people are the same way. Don't lie when you ask yourself: did I actually notice the mouse the first time through?

Hey Par, your time traveler convention reminds me of this Cat and Girl.

In fact, a new quote for the top of the board should be: "Technically, you would only need one time traveler convention."

And speaking of traveling, I do believe that I will be seeing Hitchhikers Guide at Westmount at 9:40pm Tuesday night. If anyone is interested, please feel free to come, if you want to call me, my number is 235-8625.
