a late word of the day:
triskaidekaphobia ris-ky-dek-uh-FOH-bee-uh, noun:
A morbid fear of the number 13 or the date Friday the 13th.
Taylor and Clarky: i called both places, and got no answer. hard to say if i'll have time later today to try back again.

Kylie will be 37 in 11 days. She was 20 when her first record came out.

yeah, this is what Fader had to say about that Vestex:
With CD-Js and Serato/Final Scratch-type programs becoming more and more sophisticated (and affordable), it seems extravagant to drop a few months rent on Vestax’s VRX-2000 home dub-plate kit. Which is exactly why we’d do it. COMPLETELY OVER THE TOP!
Thing is, none of the new technofriendly computerized methods give you an actual factual piece of wax at the end, primed for collecting/fetishizing/scratching the hell out of. The Vestax joint does. As one member of the FADER staff so aptly put it, “what else are you going to do when Sizzla comes over?”

new arcade fire song? - burning bridges, breaking hearts...and we all know who to thank for all this Arcade Fire hype yes? Pitchfork ofcourse. well now you'll know exactly what kind of music you should be listening to the next time you read a review, well, according to DFA1979 tour DJ? and Arrested Development's Mrs. Doubtfire, and part time contributor to Vice Magazine- DAVID CROSS: Albums to Listen to While Reading Overwrought Pitchfork Reviews
um. music for you chemistry geeks- that means you Jeremy. The Pipettes - move over Mathrock, Sciencerock is on it's way.
and finally, easily the best thing i've encountered today: Louis XIV + Suicide Girls = sweetest fantasy ever. (NSFW)

Nice, I replaced my shitty copy of the tremulant ep with the high-bitrate ones in your link. Good stuff. The other discs I have on vinyl... I don't know if I told you, but the Frances the Mute vinyl is a three-disc set and on side B of the third record, there's an image etched into the wax. It's pretty cool. Also, you can get the bonus-tracks on vinyl for like 9 bucks... it's a good deal.

in case you're not up on shit, here's a link to all the Mars Volta records- including the often forgotten Tremulant EP - the only things missing are probably the live tracks off the Singles, as well as the Bonus tracks off of Frances.
speaking of Mars Volta the March Issue of the Fader has an awesome interview with Omar. check check check checkitout, whatwhatwhat's it all about?
oh yeah, in more sucky news, Kylie Minogue (hey Clarky according to CBC she's only 36) has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. i won't make any bad jokes about the hooky next single going "do do do the kemo therapy with me, (you got to shield your faaaace)"
