hellyea, cinematography totally applies to comics. Thanks for letting me know about that. I should definitely learn something about directing; not kuz I wanna make films but for comics. Damn man, thanks for that... I totally never even thought about that. Shit... you have no idea how much you just helped me!

Duck TaleZ 3 - a funny flash parody of Duck Tales, Dragon Ball Z, and some other pop-cult geek junk. [EDIT: Watch out! It's 18 minutes long!]
Tay: That comic is fucking rad. I think you doing a comic blog is a perfect idea; I think you doing any blog -- especially in conjunction with Captain Ngs -- would be sweet. Do it. Now. (Motherfucker.)

About the actual comic: I don't know if it matters to you -- or if it's intentional or whatever -- but it might be worthwhile to flip/mirror the final frame. That would maintain the 180 degree rule of film, which I think is still pretty applicable to comics. The 180 rule helps minimize alienation -- by giving the viewer a more fixed/static P.O.V. -- and therefore helps with the flow. So, uh, just a very minor thing that I noticed; a simple suggestion from one pal to another.

And one final thing: I started reading the Dune series (I'm about half-way through Messiah) and I was wondering how deep into the series I should go. I mean, like, how worthwhile are the later books? I enjoyed Dune, but I didn't love it. I am, however, really liking Messiah thus far -- I think I enjoy the political intrigue most. And, yeah, I figure I can probably skip Herbert's son's stuff, by the sounds of it. But otherwise ... what do you figure?

Twin Lakes

For anyone who wants to come please let me know, via phone (437-2076), email, or the messageboard (probably best). We'll be heading out on Saturday around 6ish depending on when myself and Andy are done work. It's an hour south of here (directions to follow) so we should get there around 7ish and set up camp. Stay there Saturday night, Sunday night, and come back monday afternoon/evening.

What to Bring

1. Tent (if you have one)
2. Sleeping Bag
3. Change of Clothes (or 2)
4. Swimming Stuff
5. Campfire cookable food
6. Alcohol
7. Camera
8, Slackline
9. A towel
10. Something fun to do

If I think of anything else I'll add it.

Costs
$12 per night per site (which can accomodate a few tents)
Foodstuffs
Miscellaneous stuffs
(should be pretty cheap)

How to get there

1. Drive South on Highway 2
2. Turn West onto Highway 13 (Ma-Me-O Beach exit)
3. Keep Driving
4. Turn left at the "Twin Lakes" sign
5. If you get to Winfield you've missed the sign, turn around and go back 4km.

If we all go together we shouldn't get lost because I can navigate, I've been there many times.

I don't know who's going for sure other than myself, Jere, and Dana, if you are coming please let me know. Also if we have a large enough group we may need one more vehicle. I can't see us needing any more than 2 as yet.

[edit]
+ Al

Can you sticky this please Par?

Hey Jere I hope you check this sometime in the next two days.

I have in my possession 6 steel 72's and 2 aluminum 100's. Also I have a dry suit that seems to fit well, and all the necessities of diving. That's 4 dives each, if you want more you're gonna have to grab more tanks because Mike was wary of giving me 8. (I managed to convince him that I should only pay $50 for a dry suit, gloves, and 8 tanks for 5 days).
Thus... diving is a go.

You need to supply big dive-lights.

That seems odd how we can manipulate language around like such. You basically tried to justify how you say something by making a definition in some internet source. However you originally claimed that the source was discreditable (Remeber: "Fuck urbandictionary"). So if I made a definition of "checkmate" and it is confirmed then your definition is just as valid as my definition. In other words you didn't really have to justify how you used the phrase, you should of just used it and not care what people think.
