Priorities:

In an election campaign notable for its surprises, Sarah Palin, the Republican vice- presidential candidate, may be about to spring a new one — the wedding of her pregnant teenage daughter to her ice-hockey-playing fiancé before the November 4 election.

Inside John McCain’s campaign the expectation is growing that there will be a popularity boosting pre-election wedding in Alaska between Bristol Palin, 17, and Levi Johnston, 18, her schoolmate and father of her baby. “It would be fantastic,” said a McCain insider. “You would have every TV camera there. The entire country would be watching. It would shut down the race for a week.”
...
McCain is expected to have a front-row seat at Bristol’s wedding and to benefit from the outpouring of goodwill that it could bring. “What’s the downside?” a source inside the McCain campaign said. “It would be wonderful. I don’t know that there has ever been a pre-election wedding before.”

Setting aside for a moment that Charles and Diana they're not (a whole week?!), is there anything more cynical than exposing your pregnant teenage daughter's shotgun wedding to an international audience just as a ploy in a presidential election?

You know the funny thing about the current financial diaster in the USA?

It has happened before, I talking about the Saving and Loan crisis they faced in the 80's and early 90's. Same deal banks collapsed, credit was short everywhere and it all ended with a bailout by the FDIC.

Guess what caused the S and L crisis? You guessd it! Mortages being shuffled around until they defaulted.

Don't they ever learn?

Look what I found a link to while I was wasting time on that same website:

Wow. I'm not sure what's shittier - the sign or the terrible reporting.

I don't know exactly when College Humor became this interesting (perhaps around the time of the Street Fighter videos?).

Typical American buisness, when the going is good and they are making "money" (leverage and "future" supposed profits from derivatives isn't money. There is potential if everyone pays but when everyone starts defaulting like what is happening now all that "money" suddenly disappears faster then Grand Arms Shinobi!) they want absolute free reign and no government control. But when they are losing their shirts the buisnesses want as much govenrment help and money as possible.
