Hey Pete, I'd say get a cheaper one. Anything over 3 megapixels looks the same in standard picture size anyway. The only way you'd tell a difference is if you were getting the pics blown up to movie-poster size. Seems like with the new cameras you're just paying for more pixels that don't add any more quality for the average user. The newer ones are significantly smaller though if that's important.
This was taken on a 3.1 or 3.2 megapixel (don't remember for sure).

That's my 2 cents.

that is some sweet boralis. I have seen more vivid displays, but never one quite so active. It was like the sky was dancing.
