it's got nothing to do with what you type in there any random string of letters/numbers will do.
The symbols randomly regenerate when you go back so the answer is always different.

If you follow the instructions it works. I've seen the puzzle/illusion before on paper, and it's much easier to figure out on paper. I think the website is designed so that you can't see too many of the symbols at once and figure out the pattern.

yeah it worked for me. when i typed location "bus" it correctly said the letter was b, but when i went back and typed the word "boston" it incorrectly said the letter was L or something. i think it has something to do with there being few locations starting with those letters -like when you ask people to think of a country that starts with A

No, beck is quite right, the sight works just fine. It's just a simple little math trick that most people don't see at first. The problem is that he doesn't know how to give directions in such a way as people will actually pay enough attention to them to follow them. A fact painfully noted by all of us, and by us I'm including yours truly. My real question is, why after beck gave you another means to go on do you still screw it up?

wtf? can't anyone follow instructions?
Say you choose 37... 37-3-7 = 27
find the symbol for 27
enter something in the text box
click submit

so... off into the wild blue beyond. Actually, more like wild, forested beyond. I hope the world doesn't fall apart while I'm gone, because I won't know anything until about Wednesday. So... Pam, Percy, and whomever else has plans to take over the world, could you wait until I've returned? ;) thanks.
(I mean, then I'd be able to help out if needed, and the switchover would be that much more easy)
see you in a while!
