Ooh, new submit-a-message look.
So you know what I don't understand? People who get a job for a week, "borrow" the keys to their employer's farm equipment and then have races at the grounds at night (calling each other loudly by name when caught). You know what else I don't understand? People who make out next to a pile of horse shit long enough to be asked to leave three times, then have my highbeams shined on them. Some people are stupid.

So all you have to do is get the album mastered again? Well, that's encouraging. It only took three and a half months the first time, right?
Ok, I swear, that's the last time I give you guys shit about the album. At least, for this year. I wouldn't mind grabbing one of those LDF albums from you, though. How much are they going for?
Oh yeah, and I'm changing the post form on the board here a bit. If there are problems or constructive criticisms, let me know. I'll try to fix it up as soon as possible.

speaking of music, I finally watched Lost In Translation today. I must say, that movie has a killer soundtrack. I was not prepared for the excellence of the music in that movie.

I have 500 LDF CDs in 3 boxes in my house. I want them to be gone.
I'd say she did a pretty good job of classifying our music in that article.
Who says the dagger disc is gonna be much longer? You're too impatient. I guarantee it'll be out in the next three years. But seriously, we actually finally went into the mastering studio for the first time just last wednesday and it sounds fucking tight. Chris, who's mastering it for us is doing an incredible job and he's gonna give it another go and come up with a second even better version before we send the mastered copy off to be pressed. Anyway, I'll make the official announcement here and now while we're on the topic:
the official name for the new Red Hot Daggers album is:
(self-titled)!!!
I didn't see that one coming.

It's funny... I always wondered who Ricky Powell was because I can never figure out some of the Beastie Boys references. For example:
home boy, throw in the towel,
your girl got dicked by ricky powell.
But today I found out who he is because this comic book I purchased last Thursday by Jim Mahfood (called "40 oz Collected") has a recommendation to check out a photography book of his. The weird thing is, on the very same day when I finally find an answer to a question that's been on my mind for a while (though I was never ambitious enough to actively look it up) I read a message on here by Eric ABOUT Ricky Powell! That's sooo fucked up! I don't know anything about this Powell guy and then bam, he shows up twice in one day!
Anyway, Jim Mahfood is a pretty good comic artist (and although not generally known, he's also a rad graff artist) that I've been following for a while. He's actually good friends with DJ Radar and DJ Z-Trip, and he's a big music buff. But here's the complete list of books he recommended:
1. Speechless: the Art of Peter Kuper (Top Shelf)
2. Bomb the Suburbs, and No More Prisons by William Upski (Soft Skull Books)
3. Keith Haring by Elizabeth Sussman (Little, Brown and Company)
4. Oh Snap! the Rap Photography of Ricky Powell (St. Martin's Griffin)
5. Fight the Power by Chuck D (Delacorte Press)
6. You Don't Have to Fuck People Over to Survive by Seth Tobocman (Soft Skull Books)
7. Downsize This! by Michael Moore (Random House)
and also, since I got nothing better to do, here's his website recommendations too (the comic/zine he made this list in was published in 2001, so I don't know if they're all working or not):
artcrimes.com, portableroots.org, amnesty-usa.org, mobaction.com, publicenemy.com, michaelmoore.com, softskull.com, markbode.com, onipress.com, spookoo.com, punkplanet.com, djztrip.com, djradar.com, crazyfish.net, badazzmofo.com, sequentialtart.com, jinxworld.com, savantmag.com, popimage.com, andiwatson.com, grayhavenmagazine.com, www.geocities.com/thegrowingupheaval/home.html

so, uh, I've exhausted my usb key for the sake of holding photos... guess who needs to buy more memory cards!
It's so dumb. For some reason, the fact that I have a 512mb memory card, and a 512mb usb key didn't clue me in to how quickly I would run out of room... go figure!
anyway, I suppose that's one of the more minor perils of digital cameras. One of the others being that I have close to 400 pictures and I have no idea what to do with them. I certainly don't want to develop them all... (but, of course, they're of lame stuff like plants and mushrooms and animals, nothing too spectacular...)
