1) Really digging that new Broken Social Scene. Swimmers has sort of a Pacific Theme quality to it. And I also recall them playing 7/4 (Shoreline) back during the Dinwoodie show. Looking forward to the new album.
2) I think the band you're thinking of is Placebo.

Ok, and even if that's not your thing, there's always some high-concept Steve Carell action in 40 Year-old Virgin.
To officially kill off Bad Movie Night for the year, I figure we can watch a good movie. I'm looking at either the 7:10 show at Westmount ($9) or the 7:20 show at South Edmonton Common (which can be $8 with the AMA ticket dealies, although I lack access to those myself.)
Drop me an email if you're up for that show (particularly if you have some of those AMA tickets lying around.)

You're looking for an excuse to drink. I know it. I can taste it.
In an unprecedented break from indifference, I'm getting off my ass and heading out to Twin for just such an excuse. Really, I should have a long time ago. Now, though, there's plenty of room, if you want to come. If?? Bah! You want to come. I know.
Give me a call before about 3:00 if you're interested.
