Fedora was pretty good. It was the only distro that seemed to work fine on my laptop. Unfortunately I got the impression that Fedora was not as multimedia friendly as the other distros.

Anyways, I've got Fedora installed on an older computer... but I think that Percy has it installed on a newer laptop. I would imagine that Fedora would be a little better for newer hardware.

Well SUSE only sort of works, Ubuntu doesn't at all, it could just be that the hardware is relatively new that it's not supported yet. I figure this is a good a time as any to try some other distros right?
I'm currently downloading Xandros and Mepis, they seem to have the best ratings and user-feedback and don't require the stupidly long installs of gentoo or slackware. Anyone know any reliable info about either of them?
