Actually, Paras, it has long been a suspicion in the medical community that bacteria is responsible for Peptic Ulcers. These two scientists elucidated these claims. Stress still does play a role however in that it is a predisposing factor but does not, in itself, cause a gastric ulcer

Apparently, President Bush's God comments include the following:

Mr Shaath said that in a 2003 meeting with Mr Bush, the US president said he was "driven with a mission from God".

Does that last bit sound familiar? Does this mean that George W. Bush is following in the footsteps of Elwood Blues?

taylor, remind me to show you FLEA MRKT - this art story zine i picked up at LISTEN yesterday. It's a really nice looking production, and according to Kris it may have only costed $3 to print per issue - once you see the cover you won't believe it though! yeah and it was done by a guy in town - hell even Burwash's wife even has a story in it!

also who's going to YOU SAY PARTY! WE SAY DIE! tonight?
also i picked up the free CIRLCES & SQUARES demo -if anyone wants a copy lemme know.
also I may have convinced Kris to bring VICE MAGAZINE in at Listen. that would be sweet.

Damn, and I was going to post something about how you had cleverly drawn attention to the 'Ig' in 'Ig Nobel' by writing an apparent misinterpretation of what I had written. I was even looking forward to writing "well played, good sir." Alas, thwarted again.

The Nobel prize for medicine is also an interesting one (and not just because that's my new field.) It went to Barry J. Marshall and J. Robin Warren for discovering H. pylori; the bacteria that plays a role in peptic ulcers. Prior to their work, it was believed that ulcers were purely stress-induced, and the remedy prescribed was related to this fact. Marshall and Warren weren't taken seriously at first so, to prove the point, Marshall drank a sample of the bacteria, and showed his own onset of gastritis, and his own response to treatment.
