"The 20-second clip opens with the Smurfs happily dancing and singing their theme song accompanied by birds and butterflies.

But then planes appear which drop bombs on the idyllic scene, setting fire to the blue-skinned characters' houses.

One character, Smurfette, is killed and others run for cover while a baby is left crying in the middle... "

Hey Beck -

Here is a link to the company I was thinking of:
http://web.tera-byte.com/
While they are probably not the only company here in Edmonton, I've heard they are fairly cheap in comparison to others. It might be worth looking around a bit. They do allow you to host your own hardware through their co-located plans.

Another link was for http://www.no-ip.com/. This will allow you to host a server through something like your shaw account and deal with dynamic IP addresses changing on you.

Also, here is a link to that LAMP book I was talking about. You access it through the UofA Libraries through books24x7 (a service I'll miss in about 2 weeks...)

Last link is to the Dell Financial Services website. This where they list off-lease, recertified, or refurbished pc's, laptops, etc... including servers. Doesn't look like they have any right now, but it is worth checking often.

Hey Par, you remember mentioning that bit about Florida's new law for self-defence? It's hitting the news hard today.

I love that quote from the CNN article, "'It's pure, unadulterated politics,' Bush said last week of the Brady Campaign's tactics. 'Shame on them.'" If you ask me it's a bunch of nonsense news over a law that sounds like more nonsense (never read it in its entirety save for snippits provided by media). If they had a problem with the 'duty to retreat' then why not demote the rule to a matter of evidence?

Today the public is afraid of what ifs, like some armed guy misunderstands you and decides that he needs to pre-emptively strike in order to defend him/herself? If you ask me this is an example of pure politics working properly. Why mess up something that worked properly in the first place with something new that has the possibility of creating unwelcomed outcomes? Namely a spike in public concern and the argued possibility of offenders who may see an opportunity to abuse this law? Not that there wasn't an opportunity to abuse the law before of course. Now the law makers look like a pack of crazies changing the words to laws for any number of mixed motives - favours for the NRA is put out there quite a lot.
