song of the day:
Evergreen, by Submarine on their album SkinDiving.
Smooth electropop beats with a voice like platinum waves.
Runner-up:
Pinback's Syracuse, off the album Summer in Abaddon.
A mostly ignored Canadiana gem; this album is their first release on Touch & Go!

The Flying Crowbar
It's like the early version of me worked as a weapon designer or something. Good thing it was never made.

How about Richard Cheese for song of the day? That shit's available as an mp3.
Ok, really that's for Andy and Jere. I couldn't possibly hope to keep up with any sort of regular musical feature here. Apparently, based on trivia tonight, I know dick all about music.

I've decided I'm going to have a "song of the day" type thing. It's not gonna be any sorta elitist hipster shit stuff (unless I feel like it). It's gonna be some straight-up great-fucking tunes regardless of genre or popularity or artist.
I might even make a website so I can keep track of this shit.
And no, "song-of-the-day" does NOT imply that it will be daily. It may be more frequent, it may be less frequent. This service which I will freely provide to those of good taste will be an endeavour based purely on my whims.
Today's song of the day is:
Tom Waits - No One Knows I'm Gone - from the album Alice
Listen to that track. Put it on repeat. Listen to it 25 times in a row and don't cry. If you don't cry, you're a fucking cruel-hearted no-heart who murders babies with ball-point pens. How can you NOT cry when you hear a voice that sounds like a sad old wizard!?? FUCK YOU, YOU HEARTLESS BASTARD!!!
Hell above and Heaven below
All the trees are gone
The rain made such a lovely sound
To those who are six feet under ground
The leaves will bury every year
And no one knows I’m gone
Live me golden tell me dark
Hide from Graveyard John
The moon is full here every night
And I can bathe here in his light
The leaves will bury every year
And no one knows I’m gone
