You should be more frightened of... HP Lovecraft stories! Man I can watch Ichi the Killer with out freaking out now, but HP lovecraft stories still scare the shit out of me. Even after reading the same ones for many years. So yah Par there are scarier things out there. You can control people but you can't control the Old Ones.

I don't know why this wasn't bigger news before. Well, on second thought, maybe I do. Man Killed by Air Marshals Was Shot 11 Times:

The federal air marshals who killed a mentally ill man at Miami International Airport in December shot him numerous times, according to an autopsy report released a day after state prosecutors declared the shooting "legally justified" and said no criminal charges would be filed.

The autopsy, by the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner Department, found that the man, Rigoberto Alpizar of Maitland, Fla., had been wounded 11 times — in the chest, abdomen, shoulder, hand, wrist and forearm.
...

The marshals said Mr. Alpizar had started moving back toward the plane, reaching into the backpack and saying, in the words of one marshal, "I'm going to blow up this bomb," when they opened fire.

All the while, the marshals told investigators, Mr. Alpizar ignored their commands in Spanish and in English to drop to the ground.

Even after one marshal started shooting, they said, Mr. Alpizar kept approaching, compelling them to keep firing.

How many terrorists are there in the world? How many armed law enforcement officers with something to prove are there? Who am I supposed to be more frightened of, exactly?

Okay, it's not the most fair example. Cases like this, while troubling, seem rare. There's no way that overzealous police officers have killed more people than were killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. I might point out that there is much our authorities can do that falls short of shooting them, that probably doesn't surface all that much. In any case, should we not be cautious with how far we empower law enforcement in the name of fighting terrorism? Apparently such caution doesn't include investigating when an innocent man is shot 11 times.

Big kudos tonight to Mary, for playing while apparently dying, and Dana, for playing the length of the match, in Ultimate. Well done.

And, of course, kudos to everyone else for now winning two straight. (See what happens when we eat the right breakfast cereal?)

I got to hate a lot of Hurricanes, but I can't hate Cam Ward. Given the options, I'm glad he won the MVP. (Of course, I would have been more glad to see Pronger or Pisani win, but thems the breaks.)

This team, who squeaked into the playoffs, made the Finals and lost their MVP-worthy goalie in game 1 of the finals, still came within two goals of winning it all. With Markkanen in net. Nutty. Imagine being told that two months ago.

Peca showed up. Hemsky shot (!) and scored some huge goals. Pronger was a rock. And Pisani scored 14!! He only had 18 in the regular season.

I'm too lazy to find the pic, but that neon pink fan sign behind the Oilers' bench said it all. "Thanks Oilers." Indeed.

they didn't look as hungry right from the puck drop. i can't fault Carolina for winning.if we'd been luckier maybe we'd have tied it up. but lucky teams don't win Stanley Cups. if you don't score on a two man advantage bad shit goes down
it hurts like fuck. but no, i'm proud of them. i was tha first nigga cheering them out when they the lost was secured. there's always next year boys. thanks.

I won't be offended if you choose other locations.

If we all clone ourselves once, we can be at the two locations at the same time.

You'll have to figure out what you are going to do with your clone when it is all said and done.

Nate is also offering to host for the game + a bad movie. I don't know what the deal is with the split destinations, but we could always rejoin for the movie after the game.
