Good ol defaulted theory of a nickel creed.

They should have released "how you reminded me" second and changed this lyrics a bit.

like instead of" this is how you remind me of what I really am..."
    try this one.
" Now Somehow this reminds me of the song we just played..."

    SERVED!

Validating your existence and reason for posting.

Taylor to beat someone up bigger then you just buy a gun and threaten him, shoot him in the kneecap if he gives you trouble. If you don't want to kill him or be arrested then use the SAS counterinsurgency technique to take down him and all his friends. What are SAS counterinsurgency techniques?... I could tell you but I'll have to charge.

oh yeah, i forgot to mention, FUCKIN' ROIGHT DEEEEEEEETROITTTT BASSSSSSSSSKETBALL!!!!!!!!!!
love that shit. Phil Jackson is a total fuckface. how did he ever win 9 titles? i'll tell you how, Jordan and Kobe. he didn't coach shit, i'm glad he got blown away. the lakers are full of shit, it's all Shaq and Kobe- did you notice how Detroit gave them open shots and either the Lakers wouldn't it or they'd just miss horribly (Rick Fox is comedy central). plus that team was just running around not even knowing who they were covering, what's up with that? those fuckers aren't pro at all. how were they were the favourites? i don't get it

thing is i can't believe it's taken this long for the NBA to come up with a sensible game plan against the Lakers- Larry Brown's good but he's no genius. Just give Shaq what he wants, you won't stop him by double or even triple teaming him. meanwhile that frees up your defenders to get all up in Kobe's face. is this what is meant by the greatest defensive squad in history? i dunno. as for Malone and Payton, fuck those guys, they COMPLETELY DID NOT deserve a title. they sucked ass all series, and i get the impression all season too. when Payton can't drop an open 15 footer you know he should have retired three years ago.

lastly big up to Prince, that kid was flying. he was drivin' hard to the net like a mofo, and i have mad respect for how aggressive he stepped up his game during clutch time. and Big Ben is God. word.

ANOTHER LENGTHY DISCUSSION OF POLITICS AND EXPLETIVES

K, yeah Tom i totally agree with you- were i to drop the N bomb around Compton i'd probably be in a body bag. but that was really my point, groups can't "reclaim" words simply by using the word amongst themselves, irregardless (or without regard) to how other people use the word, they have to directly enforce its usage- which often involves physical violence. in fact i would suggest that the "weight of successfully reclaiming words" weighs entirely on this violent componet- just look at nigger comparatively to fag and i think you might see what i mean. fact of the matter is words like nigger and Jew are being used in all sorts of new contexts, which can be extremely problematic depending on where you're coming from. as i mentioned earlier Chuck D felt adament that the word nigger was, and always will be a word of hate. but lots of kids (many of whom who have tried to explain to Chuck) now consider it a word of love. this may be hard to believe for some, but the usage of the word in this context is something synonomous to brother, mate, or dude. most troubling to Chuck was the fact that white kids were using it in this manner (i should clearify, most of the kids that use the word make the distinction between "nigga" which is good, and "nigger" which is bad) these kinds of specific destinctions are also starting to be used by Blacks themselves, where "nigger" demarcates other blacks as Other (capitalized because they're the Real Out Group, the actual Other). you're either Black "cool" or Black "nigger". and this is where the politics comes in. on the one hand Chuck is saying the word carries with it the baggage that Mary was talking about, and that no matter what, the word will always carry this baggage and will ultimately be a word of hate. (i find this also debateable, especially since the word Gay is hardly ever used nowadays the same way they did in the 1940s. radio commercials would never dare tell you to have a Gay Christmas) the kids on the other side either disregard the history of the word or perhaps even see it as a subversive and positive tactic to be able to change the meaning of the word entirely to a word of love (or in essence have a new word entirely, Nigga instead of Nigger). again Chuck points out that this is by no means a universally agreeable solution. as you can see these are by no means easy questions to answer, but from this discussion i hope that we can recognize especially the point i was ultimately trying to raise is that the usage and enforcement of words is entirely a normative value judgement. Alison, i hope it didn't seem like i was picking on you or anything but you rightfully brought up some value judgements that lots of people in representational politics/poltical correctness bring up, and more often than not they take on a very righteous standing as to which words can be used and which can not. by no means am i saying that you were taking such a stance, however the people that do take this stance rarely ever question their own tactics. they think there are unquestionable wrongs for using certain words, regardless of context or intent. so Alison i fully respect your values in the usage of some words over others, and agree that it is important to question the use of some words. however again these are all ultimately personal value judgements without distinct rights and wrongs (i won't go into some of the poststructualist ideas of the Subject and his determination of values, that's like a whole other can of worms) i made mention that when context is correct word usage is valid- Paras' use of the word douchebag. now let's say Paras was using the word "wigger" in a correct context. this word hardly carries with it the same cultural inappropriateness as using the word "nigger" but in essence it gives nigger its weight and significance. its meaning is entirely referential to the word nigger. so then why isn't the usage of the word wigger equally questioned? this is where i find arguments of political correctness breaking down, they don't really respect the plasticity of meaning within and between words. there was a campaign on campus not too long ago attempting to have students stop using the word Gay as adjectival of lameness. the group's argument was that Homosexuality was unfairly being used synonomous with wrongness. and i don't entirely agree- as with the above argument with the nigger example i think meanings can effectively change drastically. moreover i think it should be questioned whether or not people use the word "Gay" as directly meaning homosexual- especially since varying degrees of wrongness are not associated with words marking homosexuality. when something goes terribly bad one does not say "oh this is so faggy!" or "this dykes!". perhaps Gay is being used outside of its reference to homosexuality. and yes, perhaps there's still baggage. i'm not saying that using gay is okay. i'm just saying that it is entirely political ignore the possibilities that the use of the word can exist outside the meaning of homosexuality. and this sorta comes back to Jess' statements about derogatory terms setting up conflict arrangements of "Us vs Them"..... mmm i think it depends. if an actual "race" or "class" or "sex" is being refered to than yes- "you Paki, you dyke, you whitetrash". but from most of the curses taylor and i listed below, most were meant to be very individual attacks- there's no group of Fuckers, or Assholes one can be a part of. it's just YOU that is being refered to as the Asshole. so i think it depends entirely on which words are being used. so i guess that's sort of a good thing that not more curses make you out to be Them.

as a side note i think both Taylor and I found it particularly fascinating that Chuck D used the example of the word Punk as being derogatory (as it is within hiphop culture, "you punk", "punkass bitch"), where as we identify with the word as being self-empowering and synonomous with the DIY ethic.
