it's equal time- if bands are getting posted, other stuff should get the same attention right?

Year of the Bike
The Year of the Bike draws to a close for the year but we're still working hard to enhance cycling opportunities on campus. So what's next for bicycling commuting at the UofA? Student volunteers and ECOS are building a mass of 'Green N' Gold' free-bikes to be used by all campus community members to enjoy a safe, healthy and sustainable means of transportation around campus. We have been allocated a temporary work space and are continuing to take donations of bikes, parts and tools.
Watch for the Green N' Gold' free-bikes around campus this Spring!
If you would like to build a bike, donate to our project or find out more information, please contact ECOS.

- yeah, that Sahara Hot Nights record just came out two days ago... but I haven't had time to pick it up yet. Y'know- at Coachella, the drummer from that band was totally checking me out. She was. She wanted me. It's true. But I didn't go for her kuz the bassist was cuter.
Also... has ANYONE picked up the Sparta disc yet??? SHIT. I've gotta get ON that.

- fine then, be that way...
I was just voicing what I thought...
make fun of me will ya? there's trouble coming your way now...
hmm... if only they hadn't already put ricin in something... now I'll have to come up with something original, and most likely a lot less deadly too... (just so no alarms are raised) ;)

- fine, fine... apologies all around...
I meant "old boys' club" so now that's all straightened out.
semantics, semantics
hate to say it, but i feel like the board's being invaded by advertisers... I mean, not that the albums/bands etc. that are being advertised are necessarily "mainstream" but it sure does seem like they're being advertised on the board, not "Hey guys, guess what's being released!" kind-of stuff from one of us... so yeah... I know it's all more than likely just y'all with the shaw internet connections finding info online copying and posting... but it feels like those pseudo conversation/advertisements the Corporation warned people about. hmm... is my paranoia showing again? damn!
oh, and the beauty of councillors with lap tops is that they can have conversations on the web boards while the council meetings are going on. I thought that was hilarious, checking the web board today and reading the final conversations... quite interesting... "democracy" outside and inside the chamber walls... and oh did they go on about "democracy" and whether or not this was a democratic process, whether or not they represented democracy... I felt like rolling my eyes... constituents and representation... blah blah blah. If you can admit that 20 of your friends are the only people who voted for you, then you're obviously not democratically representing the rest of your faculty... but whatever. It's not my place to judge. I'm just going to e-mail my councillor and tell her how disappointed I am that she hasn't shown up for the past three weeks. I think that's enough to kick her out too... yay, another year of no representation.

- Or is it "old boys' club"?
Wouldn't "boy's old club" be like the No Homers Club to Homer Simpson? It was his club, now he's no longer a member.
For the person who was asking if I had seen The Office (it may have been Andy or Tony (or both?)), I finally caught the first couple of eps (sweet, sweet bit torrent.) Pretty good, I love the end of the second episode (where David's head has been photoshopped onto a woman in a threesome). "Does anyone have the time?" Classic. As for translating it to American audiences, it will almost surely flop, much as Arrested Development has. It's just not a typical sitcom, and if you don't do that, and don't have a gimmick or some wacky hijinks, it rarely gets the ratings to survive.
On a related note, the actor playing Tim will be starring in the upcoming Hitchhiker's movie, as our favorite last human alive (... kinda), Arthur Dent. For the curious, an extremely early trailer.
