Heppy Bday Al. To be honest, when I read your post I thought it was the beginning of some sort of multiple choice. It was then and there that I was faced with a difficult decision. Rather than using a search engine of sorts to check for the possibility that all of the options indeed happened all on that same date, I had to go about with my own method of selection and choose. Should it be Al's Bday? Or chlorine gas day? These two options brought themselves to the fore of my considerations because, surely, the others were so uninteresting and irrelevant as to encourage any reader to disregard them immediately. Matthew Perry? Clinton? Riker? Please. Thus, the balance between the two options was truly delicate and perplexing. I found myself with no means of reference to assist me in my decision. On the one hand was a great occasion, and reason to celibrate; and, on the other marked a disastrous event that scarred many. But, then, in the height of tension, I thought, Al posted it, maybe it is bday?

    Then I scrolled down.

Here is some trivia for today:

1)Today is Jonathan Frakes Birthday (commander Riker off ST:TNG)
2)Today is Matthew Perrys Birthday (Chandler off Friends)
    3)Today is Bill Clintons birthday
4)Today the battle of Dieppe took place where a Canadian regiment was gased with chlorine gas.
    5)Today is my birthday

Don't worry about it I thought after so many years and since realistically I'll never see any of you after I graduate I thought you should know.

Know what's fun? Replacing and blindly pointing a satelite dish at some arbitrary position while on top of a polished aluminum roof at high noon. Fun times! As for email addresses, I'm quite fond of my "telusvelocity.net" account, can't get it anywhere and only about 1000 people have it. But it doesn't really compare to my decade old Rocketmail.com account...

What does Taylor think? From what I read most people have problems with support... and some down time.

Righto, Ed. I'll take a look at that. I'm curious what Taylor thinks of 1&1; how it's working for him. But, like I said, I'll get to that stuff later.

Oh yeah, for Ngz (and, really, anyone else who wants to kill time), there's WEBoggle. Now we can waste precious time without having to dig up Eric's keychain! Woo hoo!

Apparently, contrary to my previous understanding, there is a Canadian in the kayak slalom. He's qualified for the semis tomorrow. He finished 16th out of 20 kayakers, but he is ranked 3rd in the world, so an outside chance at a medal (we seem to have a lot of those people.) If anyone's seen this, it looks like a brutal event. They have to kayak through rapids, but at least six of the slalom gates must be entered against the current (marked in red). It's scored based on time (each second spent counts as a point) with points added for touching the gate (2) and missing a gate (50). Naturally, lowest score wins.

As for the canoe slalom, it's not what you would first think. The only difference between canoe and kayak is the canoe uses a single bladed paddle, whereas kayak is double bladed. It isn't a canoe that we would normally picture.
