- fuck you Beck! : p menopause my ass. It's all stress, and no exercise. And my stress load got larger - more reports to read... and... the girl who's supposed to be taking over my former presidency has quit... and nothing has been done. What the fuck am I supposed to do? Actually, I know the answer to that one - NOTHING - it's no longer my problem, but it still aches me like it is. oh, and speaking of aching, my knee... fuck, I thought it would be getting better, but it's not. I just want to curl into a ball and cry. oh, and leave Edmonton far behind.
uh, yeah, sorry, didn't mean to rain on anyone's parade... that's just where I'm at right now. hmm, but in brighter news, I have finally taken my french admissions test, and... scored reasonably well for someone who hasn't studied for five years... French 212 here I come (merde!)
happy birthday Eric.

- Well, I was gonna run down Albert's birthday, but I was beaten to the punch. In any case, here's the run down for Ngz (Happy Birthiversary!):
- 917 - Thrace is invaded, and the Byzantines are driven out by Simeon I
- 1890 - H.P. Lovecraft born
- 1931 - Don King born (still waiting on the 'fro, Eric)
- 1940 - Trotsky is ice-axed in Mexico City
- 1986 - The phrase going postal gains its current connotation, thanks to Patrick Henry Sherrill (actually, I don't know if he was the first person to go postal, but it's good enough for me.)
- 2004 - Paras learns all about Thrace and the Byzantines, and finds a cool new word: quadrumvirate. (It just rolls off the tongue. Quadrumvirate, quadrumvirate.)
Them's the highlights. Check out the rest at Wikipedia. Apparently three Popes died on this day. Betcha can't guess which ones...
Hope you feel better soon, Alison.

- Alrightey, I think I'm sick. Or else incredibly incredibly stressed out. My blood pressure is through the roof - I know, I checked it - and the migraines... fuck. If this is what the year is going to be like, maybe I'll just quit. uh, really I guess I just need to manage my stress. And I swear I'm sick too... which could be why my blood pressure's so nasty. I dunno, what do you think? hot, cold hot cold, shivering, shaking, every muscle is sore... and high blood pressure. fuck! I think I may disappear for a few days... try and get better... so sorry Eric if I skip out on the b-day dinner (though it sounds fab), and Vanessa too, if I don't make it to her party (and Ted too, for not being able to say bye)
so they explained canoeing as kneeling and using a one-bladed paddle... which doesn't explain the canoe slalom at all. WTF? There are even photos of it to show that it's like a kayak with only a canoe paddle.
happy birthday Albert

- Heppy Bday Al. To be honest, when I read your post I thought it was the beginning of some sort of multiple choice. It was then and there that I was faced with a difficult decision. Rather than using a search engine of sorts to check for the possibility that all of the options indeed happened all on that same date, I had to go about with my own method of selection and choose. Should it be Al's Bday? Or chlorine gas day? These two options brought themselves to the fore of my considerations because, surely, the others were so uninteresting and irrelevant as to encourage any reader to disregard them immediately. Matthew Perry? Clinton? Riker? Please. Thus, the balance between the two options was truly delicate and perplexing. I found myself with no means of reference to assist me in my decision. On the one hand was a great occasion, and reason to celibrate; and, on the other marked a disastrous event that scarred many. But, then, in the height of tension, I thought, Al posted it, maybe it is bday?
Then I scrolled down.
