    merde.

je ne peut pas assister a cette concert. Pauvre moi... Gomez pourquoi avez-vous decider de changer votre date de performance?

okay, English: I can't go to the Gomez show, damnit!

I'm in Winnipeg. Fucking *roar*! (really, some incomprehensible word that ends up being a roar in the end goes in here)

And... in other news, I'd have to say that Bush looks more like he's suffering from indigestion (so perhaps more along the lines of "damn, that second breakfast steak just isn't sitting well now. Well, I guess I'll have to have less hollandaise sauce tomorrow.")

    Tickets: $22.50

No word yet on who the opening groups are.

the movie I really want to see is Saved. with Mandy Moore and Maculay Culkin... I've heard from a number of people that it is absolutely worth seeing... once I have a social life again, that is... (perhaps I'll have a movie night at some point...) some piece that makes satirical fun of really cultish christianity... and Mandy Moore is part of the making fun! It really looks good. I think Julia Stiles is in it too... but can't remember... pretty good cast, pretty awesome story line... oh and Jena Malone too. I'll look into it and get back to you.

yep, I'm in EDIT 435... and so's Adrian Fong. I think it'll be a sweet class, but I really haven't started any work on it yet. The webCT stuff is ridiculously slow though... so hopefully that'll be fixed before too long, kuz otherwise it's gonna make things a pain in the ass. And apparently Mikey Melnychuk is in that class too. His introduction on the webCT board was unnecessarily and gratuitously egotistical. I'll copy and paste it here for all of you to enjoy:

Hi Everyone, My name is Michael Melnychuk and I'm a 5th year business student majoring in accounting. I worked with a large accounting firm over the summer called KPMG but have aspirations of getting into law as well. I Play Basketball with the U of A Golden Bears and will be entering my senior year as captain of the team. Recently, I opened a restaurant / bar on Whyte Ave called Sapphire, so if any of you ever would like to come for a martini or lunch, let me know and I could get you some promotional discounts.

p.s. Since we are chatting, you can call me Michael, Mike or Mikey...

Ugh. Honestly, I'm jealous of his success. But mostly, I can't stand how he has to rub it in your face. I restrained myself from looking like a cocky asshole, but I could've just as easily written something like

"Hi, I'm T. I'm a fuckin rock-star and I play in two bands and we're both coming out with CDs. We'll probably get record deals and tour the country within the next year or two. But I also have aspirations of becoming a major talent in the comics/fashion/design/animation/video-game industries. Also, if you ever feel like coming out to a show, let me know and I can easily get you on the guest list.

PS, since we're chatting you can call me Sir, T , T , T -t , or fuckhead. But just don't call me late for dinner. AHAHAHA!"

    But I didn't. It's called tact.

Then again, maybe I'm just bitter and jealous. Yeah, probably.

Ngz, give me a call about Wednesday. I'm pretty sure I'll be good for it.

Oh yeah, a third movie for the list: Control Room, in case you missed it at the Princess. It'll be on CBC (The Passionate Eye) on the 26th and on October 1st. I highly recommend this one, it gives a whole new spin on the war in Iraq. Not that Al Jazeera is the definitive source on anything, but it's interesting to see what we took for granted with respect to the war.

    from the Guardian:

Some films to look forward to
Does anyone feel like they've had it up to here with superhero movies?

Well, until next summer at least, but now the blockbuster season's over, here's two films to look forward to:

The Life Aquatic by Wes "Royal Tenebaums" Anderson - with Bill Murray as a Jacques Cousteau-alike, and some great fictional sea animals - on the strength of this trailer, surely it's going to be brilliant?
    The Life Aquatic

The other one is I Heart Huckabees, an "existential comedy" by David "Three Kings" Russell - hard to tell exactly what it's about from this trailer, but what a cast - Lily Tomlin, Dustin Hoffman, Jude Law, Naomi Watts.

    I Heart Huckabees

Neither of them are out till next year, mind you
