Paras, notice what? What are you talking about?! DAMN YOU PARAS and your secrets!!!

Al, yeah I guess that guys' stuff is pretty reminiscent of Sean's stuff except Sean was like WAAAAY fucking better.

Also- I can't find your Grand Arms Panzer on that site. You need to link it for me so I can check it out! I've been waiting forever to see it! I'm sure that if I appreciate your work there's gotta be at least HUNDREDS of people on the net who will enjoy it. You should seriously think about doing a Grand Arms Panzer site of your own. That would be pretty rad. Who knows... it might even inspire me to do some "fanart"?

Besides, how can your design lose? Nobody else's stats on that site even compare to G.A.P.'s. Well, then again there's that one that is like a thousand missiles loaded to the teeth... that one is pretty well armed I guess... but still. Missiles? Unless they all have insanely powerful atomic warheads, I don't see him posing much of a threat.

Hmm... I wonder if they'll notice. Bait and switch, that's the ticket.

After surfing for a hour on my crappy dial up at home, I have come across so many mecha fan art sites I think I am going to go insane. How do they do it?! Every site I have come across has just as good a artist as the one who won that MMFT thing! There must be thousands of these guys out there! How is Grand Arms Panzer ever going to compare?

I like how, because society began abusing the terms for below average IQ they had to change them. I propose we now start abusing the new system.

Eg. Paras is such a "Profound"!

    Hi everyone

Well since I really do find it too expensive to call and try to catch everyone at my place I thought that I would send a group hello to those of you who are never at my place when I call home.
I hope everyone is well. Me, i'm settling in. tonight was open house at the school and I got to meet all my student's parents. Out of all the canadians here I teach the most students at 540 different kids. Tu, my roommate, only teaches about 180. but my kids are sweet and I must say I enjoy the sweets that some of them bring me everyday.
Other then that the town is small and nothing like Edmonton. We have even been calling it the end of civilisation.
Anyway. I just thought I would say hi.
Matt --- Enjoy Diamonds on Saturday. Enjoy your freedom while you can

    Talk to you soon

Well, Als, I think what's in order is to rewrite the HTML translation standard to suit your respective idiosyncrasies. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
(Sorry, every once in a while I've got to let off a little sass...)

In any case, first, to Albert. Angelfire sucks balls. They have this thing about not allowing images hosted on their sites to be displayed elsewhere. Not much you can do about it.

As for the IQ thing, Alison, the negatives were merely standard deviations. '0' is 'normal' by definition, in terms of standard deviation. If you don't deviate from average, you must be average. Not much more to say about that.

The other numbers translate standard deviation into a more useful (and, psychologically better) number. Essentially, normal becomes translated to 100, and each standard deviation is given a (somewhat arbitrary) point value, in these cases, 15 or 16. Now, if you are still 'average', your IQ is 100. If you perform better than average by one standard deviation, that point value is added to 100, giving you 115. Similarly one SD less gives you 85. The numbers quoted in the 'tables' are these calculated values. For example, an IQ of 55 means (assuming 15 points per standard deviation), you are 3 SDs below average, hence mild retardation. I hope that clears things up...

As for your tables, it's not my fault, nor the site's fault. One of the hallmarks of translating HTML is that unnecessary stuff is eliminated. This include line breaks (unless explicitly defined with a <br>), comments and, in your case, whitespace. The translation replaces multiple spaces with a single space. To create tables you have to, well, use tables. That is <table>'s. To learn more, there's always web design group's HTML 4.0 Reference page on tables. Just a word that, for those used to WYSIWYG applications, tables are a little complex.

Yep another reason why I should quit while I'm ahead.

if the picture doesn't show then go here. A whole site called MMFT dedicated to mecha illustrations and photo contest. Incidentally that John person (previous post, link to his site) enters these contest. No wonder his pictures are friggin good. Don't worry Grand Arms I'm sure at least one person out there will appreciate you.

I have a question for you... seeing as we now have a description of what IQ stands for and how 0 is "normal" how do the following make any sense? Honestly, unless you're above average by a bunch, you're considered "stupid" how does that make sense? Something's not right... am I? I could be reading this wrong, but the whole IQ bell curve had negatives on the left side of the curve, and positives on the right... so essentially if you're negative, you're below average, and if you're positive, you're above average... so how on earth do the following make sense? Am I reading the web page Beck cited wrongly? (oh, and the below is taken from the website in Beck's post)

Wechsler thought that it would be much more legitimate to base his classifications on the Probable Error (PE) so his classification was (6):

Classification / IQ Limits / Percent Included

    Very Superior / 128 and over / 2.2
    Superior / 120-127 / 6.7
    Bright Normal / 111-119 / 16.1
    Average / 91-110 / 50
    Dull Normal / 80-90 / 16.1
    Borderline / 66-79 / 6.7
    Defective / 65 and below / 2.2

Mental deficiency used to be more finely classified using the following technical terms that later began to be abused by the rest of society (5):

    IQ Range / Classification

    70-80 / Borderline deficiency
    50-69 / Moron
    20-49 / Imbecile
    below 20 / Idiot

These are now largely obsolete and mental deficiency is now generally called mental retardation.  The following is the currently used classification of retardation in the USA (5):

    IQ Range / Classification

    50-69 / Mild
    35-49 / Moderate
    20-34 / Severe
    below 20 / Profound

Moreover, "educable mentally retarded" is roughly equivalent to mild mental retardation, and "trainable" mentally retarded is roughly equivalent to moderate (5).  The DSM now requires an assessment of a person's adaptive functioning as an additional criterion for labeling someone retarded.  IQ is not enough.  Maybe the same sort of thing should be done for labeling somebody a genius.

Paras, I hate how this site won't let me space things adequately... the above were supposed to be tables, but I don't know how to do tables... so you'll have to bear with me on the dashes and lines... if the board allowed me to space things the way I had them formatted, there would be no problems, alas, not my fault.
