In an extremely cooked example (they placed the boom on top of two shipping containers and pulled it back with another piece of heavy equipment), they only managed to launch Buster (the Mythbusting dummy) a few feet. (He did crash spectacularly into the ground though, meaning, while Percy's plans to catapult to school may be on the rocks, his plans to slam people at immense speed into concrete continue unhindered.)
