The source estimated 80 percent of Microsoft employees have a music player -- that translates to 16,000 iPod users among the 25,000 who work at or near Microsoft's corporate campus. "This irks the management team no end," said the source.
Wired's math not so good?

I think a better question is why are hunters so stereotypical?
Media stories of the week:
The action figure hostage. It was awfully meticulous to make the tiny flag on the wall behind him.
CNN asks publicist if Rodney Dangerfield can speak about Johnny Carson. How do you respond to this? (The publicist's answer was good: "Unless CNN had a new way of linking up to the afterlife via satellite, that would be impossible.".)

why is it that when you do a google image search for Woodland Caribou, half the pictures involve hunters holding up dead animals?
I mean, one's pretty, and the other's pretty terrible considering it's an endangered species.

This is the epitome of the kind of comp sci student I hate:
I think the idea of handing in pre-labs should be abolished anyway. It should be our own responsibility to prepare for the lab.
I realize there are students like this in other disciplines (ie. students who think they know more about the world and the subject matter than the people teaching/running the course), but the sheer concentration seems higher in comp sci. It may have to do with the fact they learned a lot about computers on their own at the hobby level. Nevertheless, you'd think some respect is due to the people who are running/teaching the course, particularly as they have been the computer hobbyists and do know more than the students.
