so... I've forgotten who the anti RIAA group was... but this is along the same lines:
apparently George Clinton's record label successfully sued NWA for sampling three notes off of one of his songs. anyway, as a response to that, two guys have formed a rather interesting group doing civil disobedience on the internet. (I love activism) Check this out!
This whole anti-plagiarism thing has gone WAY too far.

it's just hard to do field studies when the ground's frozen and everything's dormant.
And typically when you sign up to do grad school, you start soon after that. And that's what I'm not too sure I want to do... get back ino classes immediately...

Alison, who says you can't go to grad school and get a break? Granted, there is a bunch more work, but the program is far more flexible than the 'four 8-month shots and you're out' of an undergrad. (Of course, ultimately, it's up to you. And, in spite of all the hemming and hawing, you'll have to make a decision eventually.)
Here you go, Gaut: one Cigaro.
And now I go to explain why my last month of work has ended with a complicated end product that is slower that the simple, single-processor method. Sweet.

Jess - thanks! I know about those people too! I just don't know that I can go during the summer. It's one of the few times of the year when field jobs are abundant, and I'd rather have money to come home, instead of running out and being jobless for the fall. So I'm thinking I'll work the summer and then float around the world come the fall... but we'll see how things work out.
and then... there's the prospect that I might be going into grad school... *sigh* with a prof I had a crush on... am I stupid? I really don't think I'll be going the grad school route, but that'll depend on how my meeting with him goes. I don't have a crush on him any more, but this is going to be strange. and I'm still not sure I'm ready to leap back into school without actually having a true break from classes and the university. I want to run away!
