Also, if you have some time, here's a lecture by Michael Geist, a prominent Canadian copyright attorney. What interesting about this is his stance (which is very similar to Cory Doctorow, and he has some great insights, but it's also the debut of UToronto's Open Source/Open Access program, which broadcasts lectures on the internet.

Not all eukaryotic ribosomes are bound to the ER. There are cytoplasmic ones as well. The ER ribosomes are mainly for synthesis of proteins that are to be released/exported out of the cell.

so... I've forgotten who the anti RIAA group was... but this is along the same lines:
apparently George Clinton's record label successfully sued NWA for sampling three notes off of one of his songs. anyway, as a response to that, two guys have formed a rather interesting group doing civil disobedience on the internet. (I love activism) Check this out!
This whole anti-plagiarism thing has gone WAY too far.
