pardon me, I had some posting problems... the SEEDY SATURDAY post is mine...
and, I'm sure, since you're all a lot more hip than me, you already know about this, but: cbc radio three is pretty neat... they have some interesting playlists, and it's going to help me expand my musical awareness of Canada...

I KNEW there was a reason SubWay was on my list of places to burn down...
Anyways, here is something that you should watch, even if you have seen it already.

why can't the edmonton coalition against war and racism (ECAWAR) host their events on days that don't have Seedy Saturday on them? Given the new legislation that will likely soon be passed, we have another war on our hands that I think we need to throw a lot of energies behind - the right for people to save seed. And it may seem really laughable to you all, but given that the majority of the world relies on common seed (aka seed they've collected and shared amongst one-another) and not purchased seed from corporations, the fact that patent rights (and a number of different legislations) will take away all ability for farmers, gardeners, and just about anyone who grows plants from seed to save their own, I think I will be going to SEEDY SATURDAY instead.
though of course, the more popular cause will be the obvious one - war - until one day our food skyrockets in price, farmers disappear from the prairies and you get fined for trying to grow your own carrots. (this is me not manipulating my statements ... or manipulating them... depending on what you think of me)

Fuck world poverty and war... there are bigger issues here.
1. Teaching people where the caps lock button is
2. People advertising their causes to
FUCKSTUPIDS
3. Grammar
4. People using angry messages to promote world peace
Now please rephrase that last message as follows:
Hello my fellow fuckstupids. I would like to interrupt this silly banter with an anti-war/anti-poverty message.

okay. I guess i said that wrong. perhaps I don't tend to manipulate people (unless it's really outright), but I certainly do manipulate what I'm saying if i anticipate certain people reading it. i guess it's not so much malicious or insidious as spin. how's that? i guess that makes me a politician. but damned if i'm going to end up cornered again because certain individuals don't seem to think that what i'm saying is acceptable, especially not if i have any way of getting around (that unacceptability) while still expressing my point and getting away scot free. ... though scot free isn't right either... there's a certain benefit to getting to the point without getting caught on a secondary technicality
we've all been in those places of eye-rolling exasperation as some other person flogs us to death over a little thing we've said. so... perhaps if you see me talking on a particular subject in a more abreviated manner than I have done with you at other times, I'll be doing just that - manipulating the conversation so that whomever I'm talking to will see my point without taking me to town on a sidebar. Maybe that's manipulating the individual themselves, and maybe not, that's up to your judgement. though it was fun to just jump in and say I enjoyed manipulating people. to be quite honest, in most situations, I think it's fairly despicable to be manipulating people. That said, subtle, innocuous attempts at manipulation a la Taylor and his girl troubles, can sometimes be alright.
Still, I can guarantee you that most everyone I've talked to has a different picture of where I stand on most issues... perhaps i'm just playing to the audience... meh.

Seen it before. Very subtle, face.
And, for your response to Percy, also very subtle. I likes it.

Percy- I have confidence you will find whatever it is you search for.
The rest of you- why has no one commented on that photo I posted? Not the one of me... the one before that. Maybe you all oughta look at it again.
