Well, Al, I can't watch the video, but like I always (?) say, why do work on your own when you can get legions of rabid Slashdotters to do it for you? Reading through the post there (Homemade Mecha Walks in Japan), they seem to think it's more of an unstable roller skater than a walker per se.

Time to celebrate! My brother is going to Japan! That means 1 less person to use the car! 1 bathroom all to myself! 1 computer all to myself! I could go on and on, but I won't. Kind of lame actually, considering after I get my first job I plan to move out anyways.

Guys can you tell me if you think this is real or fake.

Land Walker

Watch the movie and look at the site. I think it could possibly be real. But something about it seems fake. Don't know. If it is real I better get going on that mecha I am designing.

On the flip side, I have got to stop reading the Awful Links of the Day. They just lead me to more nonsense like this:

I don't know why I expect more, but people should know better. they just should. though, you are right, the whole sense of detachment makes it easier to get away with certain things, despite all our interconnectedness. anyway whatever. it was still something I found a little too far to just be tongue in cheek.
