ugh. this sucks. my computer is frozen... and 'thinking' ... so I thought I would give it a couple more minutes' grace before I pull the plug. but still.... wtf? it's my last day of work, like hell I have enough time for this to happen... three monthly reports, two budget reports, a final report and a transition manual... plus I have to pack. and I have a meeting downtown, and a bunch of training to do. fuck.

but, on a lighter note, one of the guys in the mac lab near me is playing Queen quite loud on his headphones.. "She's a killer queeeeennn..." ... "dynamite with a laser beam" haha!

HEY BECK! ARE YOU STILL UP FOR DRIVING ME TOMORROW MORNING, OR SHOULD I BE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE ELSE?

done, and DONE bitches!

Now I just gotta make sure I wake up and get to the university with enough time to format my paper before I e-mail it (I don't have WORD on this computer so I make do with WordPad, haha). Let's hope I can get these damn papers in before noon! Otherwise I'm shit outta luck.

Nite.

ugh... I'm closing in on the home stretch. Fuckin take-home exams... sooo much writing, soooo much research, soooo much reading; all of it boooorrring. I just finished a 16-page paper for this class today and now tonight I have to finish up another 10 page take-home essay. Fuckineh. That's like 26 pages... half of which I did in the last 24 hours. sonofabitch. I swear... if I don't pass this class, there will be serious repercussions faced by the institution responsible.

oh, I just realized some of you may not be aware of show-listing conventions: the bands are always listed in order from LAST BAND to FIRST BAND. The order listed on the bill is always the reverse order in which they play... unless of course you read from the bottom-up and then it would be normal order... dammit, why is such an easy concept so difficult to explain???

I updated the link on the left with the show info as it stands, but at the last minute I kinda got screwed on both accounts.

1. LDF can no longer play this show
2. LIME got moved to the day show... which I'm afraid is with bands that we don't match with very well.

Like I said, if you wanna come it's up to you. Do it for the shark tank, not for us. Although, I'm not sure if this is incentive or not, but this is gonna be the last show we play as LIME. Not that it makes any difference. I'm just bringing it up so you're all informed and you're not all "well why didn't you tell me that BEFORE?".

I guess I'll post the deets here as well:

Soo, we're now working on the lineups for a couple of shows, one AA and one bar show [thanx to Eli] for April 30: Rally fo the Tank!

Rally: bring or come together for a common cause; revive, large gathering of people for a meeting

Saturday April 30 will host 2 fun-raising shows for shark tank recovery:

From 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm AA show
at the Shark Tank featuring:

LIME
Youth Unit [members of Dance Floor Disasters]
No Verdict [ska-punk skankers from Drayton Valley]
3 Day Binge [sk8 punk from Winnipeg]
Fan the Fire [nu-skool from Calgary]
The Girls Club
Just Drive
The One & Only & more!

There will also be a bar show at the Victory Lounge [thanx to Eli] featuring:

Fractal Pattern
The Last Deal
The Marshall Islands (ex-Red Handed)

This will start around 10:00, after the AA show.

Thanks for your support in letting us continue to bring great talent to you every week, we hope to see you there!

Too bad reading that review was about as unbearable as he tries to make out the Mars Volta album to be. I still contend that in another 8 months it will retain its title as one of the best albums to be released this year. In fact, I like the album so much that I've gone a good month and a half without buying it... just so that I can get it on vinyl. Which if I'm not mistaken should be out...tomorrow? I need to look into that in case I have to haul jet to blackbyrd come tommorow. I NEEDS this album.

A few months ago, face raved about the new Mars Volta. Now in the spirit of being balanced:

Right now, you’re reading this on the Internet, which means you’re a nerd. Since you’re a nerd, there is a significant chance that you like The Mars Volta, which would make you a nerd with terrible taste. Furthermore, if you’re reading this, if you like The Mars Volta, and if you’re wearing a stupid hat, you’re a nerd with bad taste and a stupid hat. Anyway, The Mars Volta put out their sophomore record recently, an irritating slurry of noise and half-tunes called “Frances The Mute.” Some people think it’s dull, overwrought, pretentious crap, but some people think it’s a work of prog-rock genius. I would contend that there’s no difference between the two.

Read more of Something Awful's review of Frances the Mute.

Hey Jere... don't forget to send those birthday photos when you upload them to your computer. There were some pretty good shots on there from what I saw.
