hey Tony, i found something you'd probably flip on - try to find a track called "kick out the chairs" by Munk featuring james murphy. was it the Jam or was it the Sonics that did that song, Kick Out the Jams? it was the Jams right? i think that's the reference on this song- anyways if you can't find a copy (it might be tough it was only a 12" release i think) check out the preview on GOMMA http://www.gomma.de/
word.

So were are having a "Get Together/Yay it's Summer/Roomies are out of Town/Happy Engagement" party-thingy at our house this coming Saturday July 23.
Come anytime after 7PM.
It's BYOB and a snack or two. We should have some pop here for you consumption as well.
If you need directions (which most of you probably do) then email us and we'll send you the details. If you could possibly let us know if you're coming or not, that would be great too. Thanks!
Hope to see you Saturday!
:o)

okay... so the question now is... do I take off the bandaid (at the risk of really hurting my poor itchy skin) to see if I have lyme disease now, or do I wait another day or two? The itching is subsiding, but my stomach still sticks out disproportionately where the bite occurred. They say it takes 3 to 10 days for the actual visual symptoms of Lyme disease start... I'm on day 3 now... i think I'll wait. perhaps it was stupid of me to put a bandaid on my stomach (right at my pants line), but now's too late to fix that... I think. oh hell, I'll probably rip it off later tonight...

I didn't actually see a tick, I don't think... and if I do have one embedded, I've probably stabbed it all to hell with a pin by now, and drowned him in rubbing alcohol. When I first got the bite, I did my best to get rid of whatever was inside me... I think it worked, and now I just have a rather ugly bite mark (about the size of a really large pore) in the midst of really itchy skin. It seems to be going away (yeah, I tore off the bandaid), so woo hoo! but I sure am tucking my shirt into my pants from now on... (and I'll keep a watch out for crazy bullseye rashes on my belly)

by the way, you don't burn ticks off (it's leaches you do that to). Ticks are tiny (smaller than a match head) and you'd likely burn yourself before you did anything to the tick. You're actually supposed to pull them off with tweezers, making sure not to squish the bug, nor leave any parts of it behind. yee haw!

Good news on the cigar front; I started talking to the guy in Burlington Tobacconists on whyte ave this afternoon and I asked him how the new law was affecting their sales. After a slow draw on his pipe, he carefully thought over his words as the whisps of smoke curled about his lips. "As you can see, we're technically breaking the law and have been doing so ever since it's come into effect. Until somebody says something that convinces us otherwise, we won't be putting away the pipes."

Good for those dudes. If a man can't walk into a fuckin tobacco shop and smoke a pipe or a cigar, then fuck this place. I've got a good feeling that while technically not exempt, the law will turn a blind eye to tabacco and cigar shops. And that's the way it really ought to be.
