More details as requested for the Twin Lakes trip.

Depart Saturday August 13 sometime after I'm done work (5pm), the actual time usually depends on how well I prepared before hand, buying food and packing.
Camp out at the lake itself or at the farm if there's no available spots.
Spend Sunday at the lake and head back for Sunday evening.
It's only an hour and bit drive, and it's a really nice lake for swimming too. If nothing else it's nice just to get out of the city for a day.

Costs: $12 (total for everyone) per night for the campground if we stay at the lake, free if we stay at the farm.
Whatever food/drink you want to bring
Chip in for gas.

So not much.

The difference between me and this guy is that while I have fucking wasted the last 5 and a half years at the UofA since high school... he instead has not. He worked in the same art studio as I did back in high school (he was a year older though) and without question he was a pretty good artist, but I didn't feel like he was doing anything at a level I couldn't attain. However, he now lives in New York and is one of the artistic directors for the op-ed column in the New York Times.

Fuck me.

I've never really known jealousy until today. I am absolutely fucking infuriated with myself. My god, how have I let myself get to this point???

Oh yeah, his girlfriend is from Edmonton too. Check out her shit here.

I'm really behind on my shit with Air, having only really discovered and appreciated their music as of 4 months ago or so, but they're so fucking brilliant. This isn't really an optional thing, in fact it's completely mandatory that you download their beautiful, hauntingly melodic downtempo album Walkie Talkie if you haven't already listened to it.

yeah, the Hot Snakes broke up quite a while ago. I was kinda disappointed when their last album came out and was declared as their last.

Alison, yeah- I was looking into that but all the ones I found seem to take batteries except for the iTrip, and I unfortunately don't have an iPod. When you're driving for like 6 hours a day, that'll add up to be a lot of batteries. If only I had a seperate cigarette lighter for my cellphone, minidisc AND wireless transmitter.

Hey Taylor:

In case you feel like doing something way less technologically demanding to get your I-Pod/MP3 Player/CD player etc. to play on your car radio (sans cassette player, I'm assuming), you could always purchase an FM transmitter. They work rather well, and like the drive in movie theatre concept of having something near your antenna, they send a signal which you then receive on a particular radio frequency (usually 88.1 FM or so). I think I paid $30 for mine at an electronics/entertainment store in Lac La Biche, and it works great. They just plug into your headphones jack and send a short-range radio signal (no wire wrapped around antenna needed) out in the vicinity of your vehicle.

Ok everyone, you know the drill. I post a message saying we're heading out to Twin Lakes. The usual plan. You all ignore it.
