Great, more people with guns. I'm not really sure what to make of that other than to say guns are bad. Makes me want to become the size of Godzilla and flog people with electrified whips and wet towels.

So... No Smyth vs. Smith, and no one was more disappointed than me... although Smyth and Ulanov did size each other up at one point.

Hemsky and Pronger. No comment.

So, 6423 fans. Thats pretty good.

"You know you're back in Edmonton when you draw more fans for an intrasquad game that we drew in Sweden for any home game last year,'' said Shawn Horcoff of the 4,500 arena in Mora.

And it looks like this was the first real game using these new rules. Apparently the tapes will all be reviewed by the NHL in the next couple days.

"If that was an indication the clutching and grabbing is going to be gone now," said Smyth. "I really noticed it on the power plays. You know that crosscheck on the back? I didn't feel it. That'll really make a difference with Derian Hatcher, Richard Matvichuk, Chris Prong ... hold it. He's on our team now."

Oh George, you don't need to raise your hand and ask to go to the bathroom...

Armed American Militia to guard the US-BC border? ... I guess thats ok... since Canadian border guards are walking off the job for not being armed.

UGhhh.. in case you didn't know, ordering 100 wings between 3 people is not a great idea. Especially when they send you 110, and one of the three only eats 10 or so. I don't think I'll eat meat for a few days. I feel disgusting. though the globe, and their 34 different flavours did taste good for the first while. and the wings are still only 23 cents.

gee... notice how the only picture in the entire Yahoo news collection that could possibly have a Canadian in it happens to be the gigantic group shot?

and... in other news... I'm feeling a little sketchy about some of my travel plans now... what with all the forest fires and flooding... Only a week and a bit to go! (I depart at the super fabulous hour of 6am on Sunday the 25th for those who were curious.

And... I've finally caved into the technological age and gotten myself a blog. Solely for the purposes of posting my travel stories and photos, not much else. So, if you're curious about what the heck I'm doing while away for eight weeks, please check this site out (or you can type in http://www.ballofdirt.com/members/30920.html and get there too).

Oh! so after my comment about the 'mainstream' media not picking up on the Kanye West story, guess where I saw something on it... CNN! not regular CNN news, of course, but their hollywood/celebrity/entertainment news half hour... they even had a poll to find out if black and white people felt the same about how they think George Bush feels about black people... they didn't.

Glad the car is back in working order... so are you up for a dive trip sometime? I'll come pick up my stuff sometime this week.
