Happy anniversary to everybody! The Starlite Room has just passed its first
anniversary. That means any of you who took out memberships in April 2004 now
need to renew them. By way of thanking you (and everyone who's memberships are
coming due in the next twelve months) for all your support in the first year,
we're waiving the membership renewal fee. All you have to do is drop by the
Victory Lounge whenever it's open or stop by the membership table at any show.
Present your existing card to the membership person. They'll transfer your
membership number to your new card and you'll be a Starlite Room member in good
standing for another year. Keep in mind you do NOT have to re-register. Retail
outlets where the memberships are available (FS, Listen, Freecloud, Blackbyrd
and Megatunes) will not be able to do membership renewals. So be sure to renew your
membership at the next Starlite Room show.

Last night, President Bush made a speech about the rebuilding effort on the Gulf Coast, live, from New Orleans. All comments about the buttoning of his shirt aside, the most infuriating part of the speech, perhaps, comes from NBC's Brian Williams:

I am duty-bound to report the talk of the New Orleans warehouse district last night: there was rejoicing (well, there would have been without the curfew, but the few people I saw on the streets were excited) when the power came back on for blocks on end. Kevin Tibbles was positively jubilant on the live update edition of Nightly News that we fed to the West Coast. The mini-mart, long ago cleaned out by looters, was nonetheless bathed in light, including the empty, roped-off gas pumps. The motorcade route through the district was partially lit no more than 30 minutes before POTUS drove through. And yet last night, no more than an hour after the President departed, the lights went out. The entire area was plunged into total darkness again, to audible groans. It's enough to make some of the folks here who witnessed it... jump to certain conclusions.

The globe was busy, but not really that busy. we had no problem finding a seat, that would have easily held 6.

The constantines show looks great, though it is not a great day for me, the following day I start at 8, then teach a class to a bunch of 55 plus seniors. and that day I will be at a firefighter training centre that is in devon all day. I'm not sure if I would be able to get back in time for it. I will still find a way to see it I think.

After sifting thru the vast garbage pile called the internet, Honda (Japan) announced they would redesign the RSX for 2007! Yeewho! That means it'll stay around for a little while longer! Um... pointless I know, but meh.
