Looks like that genetic algorithms have already been submitted to Dembski as of 10:44 last night. They didn't quote scientific american but it sounds like the same case.

Hey, Beck, I need to win $100 from Dembski. Can you remember what issue of Scientific American had the article about evolutionary algorithms developing circuit designs that are better than human-designed circuits?

Prophet of Pastafarianism proffers his personal perspective on the pirate-preferring providential power:

GM: How do you feel about your growing number of followers? Do you think the newcomers are just jumping on the bandwagon or do you believe they are true Pastafarians?

BH: I think it's cool how much FSMism, or pastafarianism, has grown. I always wanted a cult.

what's really cool about all of this is that there actually is NOTHING in my device manager. I know how to install the printer (because that too wasn't working) but the rest of this stuff.... no idea. so, I'm going to call Staples... stupid bastards... and stupid brother for getting the compy infected with a virus that needed stupid Staples to repair... grr. not that it'll be fixed before I leave by any means... but at least it'll get done. knowing my bro and dad, it'll still be lacking improvements in November if I don't act on this myself.

sounds like the guys who "fixed" your computer probably took some parts out and/or pluged some of theirs in and failed to reset everything properly when they gave it back to you. if you go to your device manager there might be some devices with question marks next to them and if they're the things you're having problems with remove them and do a hardware search. (if they're not, that's another issue...)

Grampa: "Hah! The way people act around here, you'd think the streets were paved with gold."
Jasper: "They are."

Bum: "Got any spare change, man?"
Grampa: "Yes! And you ain't getting it. Everybody wants something for nothing. [He walks into a social security building] I'm old, gimme gimme gimme!"
