Damn. Don Adams died. He was, of course, best known for playing Maxwell Smart and voicing Inspector Gadget.
Of course, the former is being resurrected next year, courtesy of some schmoe named Steve Carell.

Fedora was pretty good. It was the only distro that seemed to work fine on my laptop. Unfortunately I got the impression that Fedora was not as multimedia friendly as the other distros.

Thanx Ed.
I didn't get Fedora because I read mixed reviews, but if these don't work out I'll give it a try.

Damn, I should check out this internet and see what other theories I can find...
Anyways, I've got Fedora installed on an older computer... but I think that Percy has it installed on a newer laptop. I would imagine that Fedora would be a little better for newer hardware.

Well SUSE only sort of works, Ubuntu doesn't at all, it could just be that the hardware is relatively new that it's not supported yet. I figure this is a good a time as any to try some other distros right?
I'm currently downloading Xandros and Mepis, they seem to have the best ratings and user-feedback and don't require the stupidly long installs of gentoo or slackware. Anyone know any reliable info about either of them?
