I wanted to see if there were anymore pictures of that electrochromatic paper stuff so I went to the company's website that is researching it (Siemens). Didn't really see anything on the paper, but I did see that Edmonton is buying a whole bunch of 'LRV's from them:

holy shit there's a lot of great bands coming up right now, basically re-writing the Joy Division catalogue, which is sorta what Interpol had already done like 5 years ago. but fuck, what a bunch of solid tunes!! canons yo, you can't front.
peep: the Editors "the Back Room", and i think i may have previously mentioned both Modernage "Receiver ep", Cut City "Self-titled"
on the fun shit tip: ninja high school is pretty much undeniable. that riddiculous scream in "Shake It Off" is straight up obscene. i can't wait to drop this shit when Twister goes bonkers

song of the day:
artist: J+J+J
song: good times
album: They Hump While We Go Nuts
website: http://www.jplusjplusj.com/
Comments:
The album is brand fuckin new, and it's the best spazztic electropop I've heard in a LONG time... even if some of the songs are in Polish! This duo gives Pilot Scott Tracy a run for their money.
Side Note: I knew a polish girl once; she was fuckin cute. She cut my hair once. She did a good job. She also explained to me the joys of salvia. God bless polish girls.
runner up:
artist: Picastro
song: The Sea Will Kill You
album: Red Your Blues
website(s):
Comments:
Picastro is fronted by a genetically deaf woman from deaf parents. Her first language is ASL (how the hell does she sing???). If ISIS is the most melancholic, brooding plodding metal, then Picastro is the ISIS of indie rock. Picastro also counts as the Canadiana-de-la-choix-de-la-jour (does that mean the Canadiana-of-choice-of-the-day??? I hope so.), hailing from Toronto, Ontario.
Special Interest Group (of the day):
artist: Ringworm
album: Justice Replaced By Revenge
website(s):
Comments: The latest album drops today! This is purely fuckin awesome metal. Watch for November tour dates with Converge.
fact of the day:
according to Jesse Li, his mysterious girlfriend's name is Anita Poon. I'm not shitting you. He swears on it. If that fucker ain't lying, he found a lifer.

hello! or should I say ciao instead.
so, avian flu... lots of fun to read about in the italian newspapers. Though it is definitely fear mongering, it is much nicer to know that things will work out alright... at least for the time being, and that I am no safer here than I would be at home, what with the migratory routes of birds and all...
I hope all is well with you guys, but do not tell me here, because, uh, well, I do not read it all that often over here!
anyway, just a note to say I am alive, night trains suck, and the Italian countryside is beautiful. visit my blog if you like: www.ballofdirt.com and search for Alison [redacted]...

haha, it's 4:20. That's as good of a time as any to get some sleep. I only need to do 2 more readings for my midterm tomorrow.
As for the essay... um, maybe I can write it up quickly tomorrow morning after I do the two readings?
Doubtful. Maybe I'll just hafta take that 10% hit and hand it in the next day... dammit.
btw- I hope your show went well, Matt. I wish I could've been there... ;(

hey Jeremy... Eamon just set up a new Red Medicine site here. Maybe you'll be able to hear the tracks on this site since New Music Canada won't work for you...?
