well, no kicking... or screaming, for that matter, just a whole lot of resistance to the pushing and shoving, a mite of claustrophobia and the questioning of a policeman as to when we could cross the road... but, we did manage to run into a bunch of crazy hooligans that i can only assume were juiced up on Oilers-euphoria and general Whyte-hype... eh, Tom?


and then a whole lot of high-five-ing on the opposite (left??) side of the ave for the walk back. quite entertaining if you ask me. all those crazy kids... (who takes their five-year-old out at midnight for a couple hours of high-fives??) i'm glad i saw it, but i sort-of wish i'd seen the crazier pre-cop-crackdown street party instead. anyway... gooooooo Oilers!

As of last night I have a Mike Winters original piece of Fernando Pisani artwork displayed so that it's the first thing you see when you walk in the house. If that's not good luck, I don't know what is.

Plus, last night the band I saw was apparently fronted by Fernando Pisani's cousin...

and THEY were awesome too!!! Go see The Difference if you ever get the chance. What a killer band. They're playing their second show on the 2nd.

Yeah, we made it out alright. We lost sight of you guys after a bit (!) and eventually decided it wasn't worth it to keep going and turned around. We even cut over to 81st and around Hudson's to see if you'd made it through, but there was no sign. So we walked back along 81st. to Al's car as the roar of Whyte echoed off the buildings.

as i was saying to Taylor tonight - watch some BEST OF GRETZKY highlights on Youtube, and watch Ryan Smyth's goal tonight. PURE GRETZKY shit. the cut across, the simple backhand (it should be noted that Fernado's goal was also a backhand tonight) BEAUTIFUL

Oh, and with the absence of Albert's car from the spot in which I saw it parked earlier, I can only assume that Tony and Albert survived the gridlock outside of Hudson's. Confirmation, though, would be nice.

I've really been hoping, since Monday night, that I'd get to take the "If Necessary" off of Game Seven on the events bar there. For that, w00t.
