Whoops! I can't believe no one has posted this already.

Happy Canada Day!

A liitle story if you will...

28 years ago my dad came over with his brother and settled in a small town called Biggar in Saskatchewan. He started in the basement of someones house with no heating in a space a little bigger then my bedroom. He only had $400 in his pocket and a small suitcase full of summer clothes. No winter clothes. It was a tough start. Now after all these years my dad owns his own buisness and lives in a large house. He also has a ungrateful, spoiled son who has too much money and time, and apparently he doesn't know what to do with it. To say the least my dad is very grateful that the country of Canada took him in and made him a citizen. He doesn't regret it one bit that he moved here. He is also grateful that this country gave his children more opprutunity then he originally had. I think this is a little something to think about today.

Apparently most of the people here are too partied out to do anything on saturday. I just said 10:30 PM so they could feel that if they couldn't make it by a certain time they wouldn't feel guilty for not showing. Not trying to make them feel guilty right now or anything, I know most people have lives. Like I stated before I'll be staring up at the sky alone.

Albert, all I'm going to say is that 10:30 is way too late to meet up with people and decide on a destination... if you want anything more than just to stand in a crowd and stare at the fireworks as they come up. I'm meeting my lab friends at 8 so we can get a good spot and play some frisbee before the show really starts. We're probably heading down to the Kinsmen area to see the waterfall and fireworks. Maybe I'll see y'all down there.

Huh.. I guess thats why world militaries are looking at octopus skin cells and such. Nature sure is ahead of anything we can currently do. But when we catch up you better watch out.

Thanks, Jess. Now I can begin work on the arduous process of fixing things for IE7. w00t.

Roloson re-signs. The page I read this on linked to RDS (TSN's french sister station). I love the translation provided by Google:

Roloson, 36 years, led Oilers to the finale of the Stnaley cut after being acquired of Wild of Minnesota at the time of the deadline of the transactions. Before woundbeing wounded at the time of the first match of the finale, Roloson presented a card of 12-5 with an average of allocated goals of 2,32 and one percentage of stops of, 927.

EDIT: 3 years, $11 MILLION??. 'tha fuck?!

Albert - I'd join you but I'm going to Calgary to see my Gramma (she always whines about how the younger people go off to BBQs and she always spends Canada Day alone).

Dan's skipping town, so he's gotta leave the band.

Hey, isn't that tree-background in the Our Mercury picture from the back wall at Halo? I think it is...

Okay here are my lame ass plans for Canada day tomorrow. Well I really want to see the fireworks and they start at 11:00 PM. So we can meet up at the University at say 10:30 PM or so, decide where we want to see the fireworks from and then go there. The University would probally be a good place to meet as the roads aren't closed around that area, yet it is central enough that we could walk to all the good locations to see the fireworks. We could also take the LRT from here and go to the Legislature to see them. You will notice that there is a large gap of time before the fireworks start so we could even hang out at a a bar or something and then head down to see the fireworks. Well I put it on the table now it is time for you guys to follow through...

So I guess this means I'll be staring up at the sky alone tomorrow.

Queries? Concerns?

yeah thats all I got.

oh, and Souljah Fyah is playing the WORKS tonight at Churchill Square 7:30 to 8:15, and then 8:45 to 9:30.

I'll be there for the 2nd set for sure, if not the first. It's all free, and if anyone else is interested in some art, live reggae and fun, you're welcome to join. I'm going down with some friends from the lab, but the more the merrier.
