how did 4:00 am become my new bedtime? Fuck EVERY night that's when I go to bed. I think I gotta fix this shit. It's wake up, work, eat supper... maybe do something for a few hours... and then I gotta just surf the net in my room for like the next 5 hours because everybody in my house is asleep and it's the only quiet thing to do in my room. So that's basically 5 hours wasted every fuckin night... when really I should be tacking those 5 hours onto the START of my day so that I can do whatever I want without waking people up. But shit... I've asserted this many times, and I still stand by it: I was born nocturnal.

oh yeah... I somehow neglected the word BASTARD which is also in reference to a man. For example, you'd never say "That bitch is such a bastard." But alternatively, an acceptable usage would be:

"That son-of-a-bitch is a real fuckin bastard." And we all intuitively understand that the speaker is specifically refering to a man.

I was just thinking about it... and I thought it was kinda interesting that the meaning behind so-called 'curse words' are often very gender specific. I don't mean in the literal sense like how 'douchebag' is a purportedly femenine 'hygeine product' (for lack of a better descriptor). But in terms of who these words describe. For example:

5. Douche(bag) MALE
6. Motherfucker MALE
7. Slut FEMALE
8. Whore FEMALE
9. Cocksucker MALE
10. Son-of-a-Bitch MALE

Of 12 of the most popular vulgar insults, 11 of them are reserved for reference to a person of a specific gender. Not only that, but each has a very specific definition of the negative traits associated. For example, while 'asshole' contains the root word 'ass', the meaning of the 2 words are nonetheless quite different. Specifically, an ass refers to a man who is making a fool of himself whereas an asshole refers to a man who goes out of their way to make people miserable.

Also, while my selection of 12 words is by no means scientific, it is interesting to note that 8 of the words are used to describe men, compared to a measly 3 attributed to women. Not only that, but the literal definitions of the words seem to be completely irrelevent when it comes to gender-referencing of the vulgarity; for example, a man can be a cunt a prick and even a cocksucker simultaneously.
